Me & my fiance had planned to eat next door, but decided to check out this new restaurant. It was (Oct. 2, 2025) a day before their grand opening. It used to be occupied by a burger joint. We were told that the plates were sharable and that the menu would change every 3 months. We decided to eat outside at thier outside tables. I believe the table has a QR code that you can use to order. We ordered our drinks, and food and was told that we had to open a tab before our drinks and food arrived. That was unusual to us. I tried to order an Amaretto sour, (A drink not on the menu) but they didn't have that particular liquor yet, so it was suggested that I try the Capri Sin. I asked if she had tried it. She stated that she had to, in order to approve everything that was on the menu. I thought her answer was kind of a smart remark. She didn't introduce herself as a manager or owner and she was taking our order. I tried the Capri Sin, it wasn't my cup of tea, my fiance liked it. He said it did taste like an adult Caprisun! I ended up getting a Bellini instead, I enjoyed that. He ordered a Cucumber Collins he enjoyed it. I did taste it, it was cucumbery! We ordered the fried green tomatoes. There were five slices of on the plate. The fried green tomatoes were good. We ordered chicken tenders, baked mac n cheese and chicken sliders. The baked mac n cheese tasted just ok. It was not sharable, it was a portion for one person. The chicken tenders were thin flat triangles of fried chicken. They weren't what I know as chicken tenders. I didn't like the Dijon honey mustard that was served with it. I don't like Dijon mustard, I like honey mustard. The chicken sliders was the same chicken we had received for the chicken tenders. We did have the option to order grilled chicken instead. The sliders only came with one small pickle. We were about to close the tab and leave after only receiving our drinks and waiting 48mins. for our food. We saw everyone else get their food. It wasn't crowded inside or outside the restaurant. The owner or manger(I'm still not sure she didn't introduce herself) came to us and said that our our food would be comped due to it being so late and that the Chef was overwhelmed with orders. Our food started coming to us 55mins. to an hour after we had ordered it. They had desserts showcased in a glass case inside the restaurant(They aren't listed on the main menu and we weren't given a dessert menu), but we didn't order any due it being late. We closed the tab and we were given the full amount, we told a waiter that our food was supposed to be comped, so he left and fixed it, so that portion was refunded back to the card. None of the food had a wow factor that made me want to say that I want to come back for that. None of the food was disgusting either. We were extremely hungry when the food came so please excuse the almost empty plate of tenders. This seems like a good spot to grab a bite to eat if you get hungry while or after watching your kids at the playground. (They do have a kid's menu.) Or a good spot to catch up with a friend. The alcoholic beverages seem to have a good amount of alcohol. I know that this is a new establishment and I hope that the kinks are ironed out for opening day and...
Read moreWell, we were just passing through and found this nice spot for a bistro with bites, The Parkside. I met the owner and her husband, Savage Pizza in Norcross. Let me be honest, the vibe was right, and today I believe it is their grand opening with their liquor license 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿!
First, the spot is near the kids’ park with an awesome patio. It was filled with families eating and kids on the playground. The owner’s hubby mentioned that the park was the buying point for the restaurant. I agree, the weekends will kill it in the fall!
Second, the service was stellar. The staff members were friendly, and the spot was clean— impressive. The beverages were organized from Blanton’s to Hendricks to 1942. The wine offerings were on point, needless to say, we noticed champagne coupe glasses 🫵🏾🫵🏾🫵🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾. I like their drink menu— very succinct, clear, and inviting. I also observed the Head Chef meeting and greeting families outside— a very clear sign of good leadership and marketing. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention their high end espresso machine.
Third, we had Tropicalia and a Cucumber Collins, both of which were good. The wife enjoyed the addition of Empress Purple Gin. It was excellent; we highly recommend it. However, we didn’t have food, but the menu and what I observed, the bites look approachable.
With that, I highly recommend this family restaurant that has a cool vibe and very nice owners. My only concern is stayability with so many competitors in the Forum complex; both Lazy Dog and Uncle Jacks folded with good food, service, and marketing. Nonetheless, great job, Team! The Parkside is a brilliant hit! We love the DJ, playing what we call 2010s Brewery...
Read moreThis is my second time eating here and once again it did not disappoint! My son loves playing at the park and once he works up his appetite we pop in. First, I love the vibe and atmosphere. Very clean inside including the bathrooms. The menu is versatile and the prices are incredible. In a time where a drive thru meal at Chik fil a can run $12, I’d much rather take my son and get a fresh cooked meal for about the same price. The beet salad is refreshing, colorful and tasty with a wonderful blend of flavors. The wings were perfect for me and my son and I’m a sucker for the Thai chili sauce, but don’t sleep on the other sauces because they are all good. Last time we went we had the chicken salad crostini, I could eat that everyday! The grit fritters (insert drool emoji), the chicken sliders which are amazing both the grilled and crispy, and the meatballs which my teen destroyed. I haven’t had a chance to try their cocktails yet but excited to come back and continue to try more of the menu, including drinks and their pastries. The staff was super friendly and the chef even came out and talked to us. All in all great place, great location and excited to see something new and different...
