@misu_streetfood : Smash Burgers & Spiritual Awakenings
I donāt know what Mi Su is short for, but after this meal, Iām pretty sure it stands for Mind-blowingly Succulent Unholy-deliciousness.
Letās start with the smash burgers. These things werenāt just burgers - they were culinary uppercuts. The patties were so perfectly smashed and seared that I half-expected Gordon Ramsay to burst out of the food truck and start yelling compliments at me. And the sauces? Unique. Bold. Mysterious. I donāt know what was in them, but if they bottled it, Iād cancel my skincare routine and just bathe in that sauce.
Then came the corn ribs - which, yes, are somehow both ācornā and āribsā and taste like elote took a trip to Flavor Bootcamp and came back shredded. Each bite was like biting into sunshine and Mexican street magic.
Tater tots? No. These were tiny fried ambassadors of joy, dusted in a spicy-but-not-too-spicy seasoning that whispered āI love youā with every crunchy bite.
And just when I thought I was done, they hit me with soft serve specials like the Peanut Butter Pie Sundae, which should come with a seatbelt and a therapist. And the cookie a la mode? Lord have mercy. A warm cookie topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped mascarpone. It didnāt just melt in my mouth - it emotionally supported me. Iām not saying I cried, but if someone had handed me a tissue, I wouldnāt have questioned it.
Even our three-year-old lost her tiny mind - double-fisting tater tots like she was training for a snack-based Olympic event and yelling āMINEā every time she thought we dare go near her dessert. Also.. when a toddler eats something and doesnāt ask for ketchup? Thatās a five-star review in and of itself.
Final verdict: Mi Su isnāt a meal. Itās a full-on edible hug from the universe. I went in hungry and left a better person. 11/10. Would abandon my lifeās goals for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHands down this is my favorite place to eat in the Pensacola area. I'm from the New York tristate area where we LOVE our food. This burger blows away any burger I've ever had before. MI SU has become a staple for my husband and I. We drive from Tiger Point for our dinner on the weekends. The truck is usually always outside of Odd Colony which is a great location to stay and eat inside or outside. You can also takeaway your food which we sometimes do. Any of their burgers are absolute fire. I usually get the classic. My husband gets a double but it's too much food for me (they are huge!) so I get the single depending on how hungry I am! Talk about crispy lacing around the smashed edges of the beef and the perfect amount of cheese! And don't even get me started on the bun, pickles or sauce. I also love that they wrap up the burger so it steams right before you eat it! It's an experience you do not want to miss out on. Everything else I've had has been amazing. The chicken sandwich, chicken on a stick, corn riblets, fries, loaded fries and the tots are fire too! Oh and don't forget to try some of their amazing sauces! I have never been disappointed here. Plan to wait a bit as it is a good truck. They put alot of love into their food!! Love...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust had the BEST food of our entire trip from MI SU Street Food I had the Pollo Fundido (fried chicken on buttery texas toast, covered in rich queso blanco, green chili ranch, thick cut bacon and jalepenos) and Chamoy Brussells (charred Brussels coated in a hibiscus glaze, drizzled with chili oil, and cilantro aoili, topped with crushed corn nuts)... And let me tell ya...these people aren't messing around! My chicken was salty, seasoned to perfection, the batter had a perfect crunch. The way the toppings married into that sandwich, it was easily the best chicken sandwich I've had in a while, and I'm a chicken GIRL. AND THOSE BRUSSELS?! Absolutely bursting with flavor. They had such a unique and delicious flavor profile. I've never had anything quite like it and it was absolutely delectable. Best Brussel sprouts I have ever eaten easily. Also had some of my husbands nacho cheese seasoned tots and those were also great! Lots of flavor and such a crispy bite! I believe the sauces are house made and complimented everything so well. If you ever find yourself in Pensacola, definitely check them out. 10/10...
