Living at Preston gardens for the first three months was amazing. Then there was a shift of ownership. The new management style was to avoid the residents at all cost. Our issues began when I needed help due to an older washing machine that was provided by the complex And malfunctioned. We had four hours of water flood our apartment. This was the most poorly handled situation I’ve ever encountered. The maintenance man Stated that a team of professionals would come that evening To take care of the water and we could stay in the model apartment. I was told that the on-site manager which stays with the team while they were in my apartment. I decided that I would show up at the scheduled time 10 PM to confirm that this was going to happen. Istead of a team arriving. There was one man who ls Howe’s up in a latter model sedan. He looked like he was found on Craigslist. He was given a key to my apartment by the management and told to lock up when he was done. The management team member never even escorted him to the door. It turn out that this was the first time they ever used him. I was expected to stay with home at 10 pm if I didn’t want a stranger in my home alone. There were several other outside contractors who were brought in to complete repairs. I was never notified of who was coming and going. The complex allowed me and my family to stay at the model for two nights. This was a studio apartment and ours was a two bedroom. After two days we were told that we would have to leave because they had an event coming up. The management team only contacted me once throughout this process. It was a message stating that they will not pay for a hotel while the apartment was being renovated. We were out of our apartment for 12days. I requested that they pay my water bill and excuse me from paying rent. After a month of being told that they were looking into it. They denied me and stated that I have renters insurance and should use them. Preston gardens should not use my renters insurance for them not having to take responsibility. I also requested that I be allowed to break my lease 19 days early . This was also denied. In total the management team reached out to me one time throughout this process. Good luck to anyone who expects to deal with...
Read moreI am not sure where all the great reviews are coming from , but our experience here has been awful, be ready for ( in the town homes ) EXTREMELY HIGH bills, the water and gas are outrageous, between 150-200 EACH and electric as well. Their furnace isn't properly maintained and have poor circulation thru out , it's freezing outside right now and my furnace ran the entire day and it never reaches the 70 degrees I have it set on , I have had maintenance check windows and multiple times come take a look at the furnace, it's always a silly excuse of why it doesn't work properly, the very first time I noticed the furnace wasn't working right the maintenance took the filter out and it was extremely dirty and they do not change filters at all unless you request it I have never ever experienced such crappy living conditions. You pay above 2k a month and things break if it wasn't this expensive it wouldn't be such a big deal, I've been here only four months and the washer broke , the furnace keeps going out , the finishes on the home are cheap , the dishwasher is out of place and rocks , the shower curtain and towel holders fell off the walls , everything seems cheap. I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone.
Also your forced to have your Amazon items sent to the hub, meaning in the freezing temps you have to walk or drive to the mail center, so if you love the convenience of having stuff shipped to your door , skip this one.
PROS: Gets an extra star because of Frankie the maintenance guy is extremely friendly. And the pool area along with the amenities they offer and free snacks for residents is great Also, Its nice to have levis Commons so...
Read morePreston gardens is a decent place to live. It’s in a super nice area and close to the highway which is super nice. The pool & gym are very nice as well but I’ve definitely had my fair share of issues with the complex as well.
You can tell that the apartments were cheaply & quickly put together, there were paint splatters on a few of the walls as well as counter top vinyl stuck to the inside of one of the bathroom sinks. Paint would chip in random places. Downstairs neighbor complained frequently about noise, which confused me because I was constantly walking on eggshells to not upset them. Cars also get broken into often. (including mine)
I lived in a 3rd floor 2 bedroom. The high Ceilings and natural light are nice until it’s summer and the sun beats in. Had maintenance come check the AC out because I couldn’t feel it. But it was working fine. Electric bill was insanely high because of this. But bedrooms were always super stuffy in the summer.
Pool and gym rules are not enforced, there are many people who don’t live there that are somehow allowed to be in the gym/ at the pool. Last year my friend got hit in the head with a football at the pool because of a few drunk people. When I let Kate at the office know about this she basically just rolled her eyes. When you’re paying almost 2k for rent and amenities, you would expect things like this to at least be taken into consideration.
Maintenance is quick and efficient and the new ladies in the office are very helpful. While preston gardens is a nice place to live. There’s other apartment complexes that are just as nice that aren’t as...
