Really wanted to like this place. I think it is beautifully decorated, I loved the chandeliers. Although, if you're tall it might get a bit annoying to duck and weave as you walk lol. I ordered the Verduras street tacos and had two margaritas, one was the OG margarita and other was the OG margarita with prickly pear flavoring. My husband ordered two tacos. One was called The Bomb and the other The Crown Jewel. He also ordered two drinks. Bourban Peach Punch and a New Fashioned. Oh, and we also ordered the Tortilla chips and queso as an appetizer.
The queso dip itself was fine. We found the tortilla chips to be too hard and thick. They were probably homemade. Again, just not our preference.
Lets talk about the drinks before we go on to the main course. Weak. Just weak. It's of course not our intention to get drunk or even super tipsy off two drinks, but we could tell there was barely any alcohol in our adult beverages. My husbands New Fashioned tasted like almost straight syrup.
I very much like cheese and my street tacos were full of it, so I enjoyed that! :) My husband's food on the other hand was very dissapointing. Two of the most expensive tacos on the menu where mac n cheese was NOT listed first as the ingredients were basically mac n cheese tacos with a couple pieces of other stuff on the top of each. And not even good tasting mac n cheese was the sad part.
The server was a very nice young woman. We still tipped 20% bc we know its not her fault. I was a bit dissapointed that she didn't offer for us to speak with a manager when she saw my husband left 1 1/2 out of 2 tacos on his plate and didn't ask for a to go container. In my 5+ years of restaurant experience, that indicates to me she's scared of her boss, and thats not a good sign.
We would have given this place's food a second try if we knew the drinks would make up for it. Sadly, it's not...
Read moreTruly enjoyed the atmosphere and all of the unique items to look at while you wait for your meal. We went on Taco Tuesday and very thankful we were there by 4:30pm.
My daughter and I shared the chips and dips and it went very well with the cocktails, she had a margarita and I tried something crazy but both were tasty. As you will see pictured, we like to sample. Everything was delicious and very large. We needed to box up most of the tacos since we filled up on appetizers and talking.
To be honest, the big down side was the staffing. Now, mind you, my daughter and I both have worked the industry so we are extremely forgiving and understanding of the position. The waitess right away informed us that she was on the second part of a double shift. But she hardly visited our table. I asked for water at least 3 times since I didn't wish to finish my cocktail. A runner brought the food to our table. We finally received extra napkins as we were getting our boxes together to go and we waited for those (boxes) as well. The manager came by once to ask if everything was okay and never saw her again. The buss boy was walking around looking for tables to clean and actually took our dirty plates for us. And we sat and waited for our check to cash out.
Yes, it is difficult to staff now a days and we sympathize with the situation. But I will never go on Tuesday again. I will try another weekday to see how it compares to my last visit. I will also try something off the menu and get better photos of everything.
Bottom line...good food, a little pricey and if you have no where to be after your meal than this is a great...
Read moreSo let me start by saying that this might be a long review, but totally worth the read. First off, the environment is amazing. It totally gives off Andy Warhol vibes with a modern twist. It is modern and industrial and just so unique, I instantly fell in love. Second, the service, which was by far the best service I've ever had at any restaurant (and I've traveled all over the world). Our server was Marreon and he is absolutely phenomenal!!! I literally cannot say enough positive things about him. He was so kind and attentive and helpful and an absolute joy. I will make sure to ask for him every single time I come back ( which my husband and I have decided will be monthly as we live in Indiana). He made the experience unlike any other I have had before. Everything he recommended was absolutely amazing and he was just an absolute delight to have help guide us through my husband and I's first visit (trust me, there will be many many more visits.) Third is the food and drinks.... HOLY MOUTH WATERING HEAVEN!!! Marreon helped with amazing advice on what is popular and some of his favorites and he was dead on with all the recommendations! Again, if I could write a book about how to be an amazing server and light in the industry, he would be the star. The whole experience was beyond phenomenal and my husband and I cannot wait to go back. So if you have time to stop and eat, DO IT! And make sure to ask for Marreon, he will not disappoint. I wish I could give a 10 star rating because I most definitely would. LOVE,...
