I went here last week with my friend to eat and the food was good, however; when we were about to leave and paid our bill, my friend and I were going to walk to the front to give a tip to the girl who gave us our check and the man, whom I’m guessing is the owner? (He took our order but seemed to have more authority than anyone else in there) walked up to our table to clear our dishes and loudly says “excuse me, you don’t leave a tip for your server!?” There was absolutely no need for him to do that and act so entitled over a tip that was eventually going to be given. You don’t just talk like that to someone who paid money for your business. I understand servers basically live off their tips, but to call a customer out like that in front of everyone for a tip when really all that was done was they cleared our plates and didn’t really give us much service, check if we needed anything, and not to mention have 3 different people come to our table to give us food so it was confusing who our server was in the first place, was beyond entitled. He’s lucky we even ended up leaving a tip after the way he spoke to us like that. I shouldn’t have given anything. I’m guessing it’s because we weren’t Asian like all the customers were that were in there so they treated us as if we were stingy Americanized people when we always leave tips for any server. There was absolutely no need for that to have happened and he needs to calm down his attitude. First time eating there and it’s...
Read moreWalking past the window display of roasted meats, I got hungry again and needed to drop in right before closing time. Stopped by on a weekday night and grabbed me some wonton noodle soup with roast pork. Now, lots can go wrong with roasted meats - dry, bland, chewy - but none of that here. The roast pork is some of the best I've had in the city and I swear by it. The wontons were also simple, yet delectable. Why I love their wontons so much is because they use lots of shrimp! Yum! The soup wasn't the most flavorful; but everything else packed so much flavor, I gave it a pass.
Went with a small group of friends, so got some of their vegetable plates and even spare ribs. Sometimes I'm just too lazy to eat meat off the bone, but I'm glad we ordered the ribs because they were so moist and the meat came right off the bone. That's a win in my book! I'm also a big fan of their Chinese broccoli: simple in presentation, complex in flavor. Service is speedy every time and that's perfect for a late night meal when you just want food to come right...
Read moreIf there was an option I would give zero stars. I havent been here in a while, since today. I came with a party of 5. I ordered a noodle soup with meat. They messed up my order first and then delayed my order. I usually also ask to have my meat played separately from my noodle. They usually are fine with it, but today they refused to do so. Why you might ask? It was to hide the saltyness of the meat. We also ordered congee (it is usually thick with broken grains of rice), today it was watery, like it was just mixed with 75% water and 25% rice flour. This costed $9... if we wanted to drink water we wouldve asked. Next, we bought meat from THEM, they charged us $6 for eating it in THEIR OWN RESTAURANT WITH THE MEAT WE BOUGHT FROM THEM. They then charged us gradituity fee for a group of 5. Their service was horrible, the waitress and waiters were snobby and had no idea what customer service is. They had the audacity to over charge us when their food wasnt good and overcharged us. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN, and I would advise you NOT...
