I live in rural Vermont. I called the Philadelphia area store to get a rental. Will (said he was the manager), told me I needed to go in to get sized appropriately so that I looked as good as possible. I made clear it is a 4 hour round trip by car for me to do that, and that I'd prefer to give sizes over the phone. They said they could not do that. So I go out to the store to get sized up in Burlington, VT. That experience went, fine? It wasn't the warmest welcome but nothing went poorly.
Suit gets to Philly in time, I go to pick it up day of. It is many sizes too big, and the pants just look awful. I mention both of these things and get a shoulder shrug, "Well, it all just comes from a warehouse in Texas, even if I had better fitting pants they wouldn't look better." Okay, weird. I had said I didn't need shoes because I was bringing my own, that got ignored too. I was in too big a rush to fight with management or anything, and I thought I had made very clear I was unsatisfied with the fit. Their decision to just ignore that was totally unprofessional and I decided I would just move on with my life.
I've rented tuxes for years, and have never had as poor fitting of a tux as I had here. This is AFTER they made me take a 4 hour round trip to get sized by them instead of giving my sizes on the phone. The tux rental ended up around $300 for something I literally almost decided to wear blue jeans and a nice button down instead of (and this was for a black tie wedding!), since it was such poor quality and so poorly fitted. I won't personally be using Mens Wearhouse ever again, and would not recommend it to anyone for rentals. If your actual policy is people need to get sized in store, you better actually size them right and have the clothing available to make them look good in that size. I'm of totally average build, so it wasn't like I'm some strange...
Read moreToday a manager here named Will saved our lives! We had purchased a suit from a MW location in Columbus, Ohio and sent it off for tailoring. However, when we picked it up after tailoring, we noticed it had an extremely strong chemical smell that had not been there before, almost like burning hair. We left it outside to air out for and full day and even got it dry cleaned and it still smelled horrible, to the point where we couldn’t be in the same room with it. When we got to Philadelphia for our event, we were at a loss and my husband did not want to wear a suit that reeked. We called customer service and a rep named Anthony advised us to go to the MW location next to our hotel to see if we could find a new suit, and then take the smelly one back to Columbus and pray they would give us our money back. We headed down to the Philly location this morning and brought the smelly suit just in case. Will quickly took my husband’s measurements, picked a similar suit off the rack, and had him fitted and measured for a quick day-of hem within 15 minutes. He let us exchange the suits (despite that fact that ours had been purchased on clearance), and even gave us a small refund. I began the day thinking my husband would have to wear the original suit and we’d never get our money back, and Will completely blew me away with his willingness to help and great customer service. We are...
Read moreI would like to say the guy who worked with me at Men’s Wearhouse was super nice and knowledgeable. However, my experience is solely based on... I ordered a custom tux and custom suit as apart of their Joe line. I was notified approximately 5 weeks after I purchased the suit and tux that everything had arrived, but the suit jacket for the suit. This was because they were out of the fabric thread. The silver lining was they would not charge me to upgrade to the Joseph Abuud line which would only take two weeks to receive. I went to the store to pick out my fabric, but then they tell me I can only choose from Range 1 of that line. Which their was very little selection of and nothing close to the original color I had chosen. So now I ordered another Joe jacket which will take another 4 weeks. The issues I have is they should have let me known way before the 5 weeks they were out of fabric. They also should have not made the pants before I finalized the new jacket and if they are going to upgrade you and apologize for the inconvenience they do not limit the customer. It will take over 2 months for me to get my jacket now.. I will not be wearing it to the event I was planning on wearing it too and I am having to make additional trips to the store. I have been a long time customer of Men’s Wearhouse but after this experience I probably...
