So I went in exactly Sunday Dec 13th. I had an appt with my original hairstylist but I was able to make it to her on time. I then did a Google search and and found Nicole's which had great reviews. The staff was nice but this is not about that. I've been going to Dominican hair salons for years and never experienced hair loss from a blow dry. So I went in I brought my own condtioner like I always do she washed my hair and then set it. I sat under the dryer for all of 30mins because my hair is so fine I don't need much heat to straighten it. I sat down in the chair and I asked that she blow dry it and pin curl to set it. When she reached up top I had her blow dry all the way to the ends because I realized she wasn't doing that. It was pretty but my ends on top were smooth but my back and sides were not because she didn't smooth all of my hair. She told me I needed a haircut but I get my trims every 6-8 wks like clock work. My ends are naturally dry but when I do my hair I blow dry and can get smooth on my own. I left out and about an hr later my hair was frizzy. So I went out that night and ran into my stylist and she was like what happened to ur hair. I have never left the salon like as if I never went. So I call the next day to let them know my hair didn't last. She said to come on in. So when I sat down in the chair she handed me the phone because I guess the owner or manager wanted to speak to me about my hair she said again that I needed a trim and did I wet my hair. But I told her it's not because I need my ends trimmed and why would I wet my hair if I just got it done. I don't waste money. So anyway she blow dried my hair to get it smooth again and when she got to the top I noticed how long she was taking per section which was already too late to say something. So they didn't charge me and I tipped her again for her time. I was very confused the days after because my hair felt very limp, no volume at all it felt like straw. Mind you I take care of my hair and use the best products on my hair. So that was Sunday and Monday I was in the salon but by Thursday when I went to wash my hair because it felt nasty. I washed my hair with my normal shampoo and conditioner and as I brushed my hair it was coming out in thick strands which my hair has never done. My husband was in the bathroom and says it smell like something was burning and it was because my hair was cooked and singed. I have never ever had this happen and now I am scarred from this. If I could leave a...
Read moreToday was my second time going to Nicole I went earlier in the month and got my sew in straightened no wash just pressed and it was was $40 Then today I called and asked for my natural hair to be washed and blow dried NO STYLE not straightened nothing and I was charged $45 but when I looked a little confused she said $40 is okay today and I don’t argue with people about their prices I just pay for my service but I don’t understand how prep is more than the actual styling. I have NEVER in my 29 yrs before today paid $40 for just a wash and blow dry. When I get my sew in the hair salon I normally go to charges me $20 to wash, blow dry & braid it for my sew in. I’m not sure if I was quoted that price because it was a slow day or what but I won’t be back for a $40 wash and blow dry. I don’t like when I feel like someone is getting over on me. And it’s such a shame because I thought this was my new go to shop I literally live 8 mins away. And to add on I made a mistake the first time I was there and walked out with Nicole’s phone thinking it was mines and I brought it back immediately when I got in my car and realized. You just don’t get over on good people cause it’s not...
Read moreI meant to already review this place but I'm glad I waited. I went the beginning of October and was worried because I have 4c natural hair and people tend to overdo it with heat or processing to get it straight. One trip could mean severe heat damage and years worth of hair growth lost. Any way I paid $42.00 plus tip which was only pricey because she could see the length and thickness of my hair. Anyway I got a deep condition and blow out and of course it turned out absolutely lovely. Most naturalistas know blow outs look great at first it's after when your hair starts shedding or wash day comes when you really see the damage. Well it's been 3 months and not only do I have zero damage my hair continued to grow and I've retained even more length. I didn't feel out of place and the ladies were nice. I highly recommend this place. A side note is that if you want a more technical style it helps to bring a picture because although they do speak English it's hard to translate trendy new...
