My boyfriend and I occasionally frequent this Chipotle because the staff is friendly and we like this location, however, this visit is our/my last visit. We had to wait for the one person working the stations to finish her conversation about someone’s boyfriend even though my boyfriend greeted her politely with a hello when we walked up to the counter. My boyfriend ordered a burrito first and the burrito busted. He asked the girl to rewrap it and she ignored him. He had to ask her to rewrap it twice before acknowledging and asking another girl who had come from somewhere in the back to iron a tortilla so that she could rewrap it. Perhaps the burrito would not have busted if she spent less time gossiping about somebody else’s boyfriend drama. At this point, I am simply observing. Once she had to take the steps to rewrap the burrito she exhibited negative physical body language, started muttering sweet nothings under her breath, and her attitude and mannerisms were overtly rude/passive aggressive.
I understand that the pay and benefits as a Chipotle employee are probably not the most glamorous, but customer service can at times be rough especially after a long day. Each person that gets in front of you is a new experience, after working hard and long for my money, it is the standard be greeted and attention to detail to be paid, that is something that comes with the territory of customer service.
While she was finishing rewrapping my boyfriend’s burrito, a different girl had started my tacos. She took over and started gruffly asked me what I wanted on it. Each time, she slopped the food on the taco discs. She didn’t even give the tortillas enough time to lose a little bit of the steam before she started putting food on it. Then she just smashed them together on in aluminum foil and when I opened her wrapping job at home they looked like a serving of mushy lasagna when I unwrapped it. Pictures are below.
I can’t really say what her true issue is or was. Perhaps she was not equipped with the coping skills/stress management skills (or they aren't all the way developed/there) to overcome whatever internal annoyance she was going through. She might have felt inconvenienced that she needed to work and not gossip or she might just have a short fuse. What I do know is that when someone is paying for food service, you don’t slop and sling someone’s food around because you are agitated over basic job responsibilities. If you can’t handle it or need to regroup then let someone know that can step in for you in the interim while you get it together. And I don't know what makes it worse. That she took her annoyance out on my food because I was with my boyfriend or she took her annoyance out on my food as a new customer. The ultimate fail in this situation is that 3 employees saw the way she was handling the situation and no one corrected her on it, no one stepped in or tried to redirect how this was going including the girl that rang us up on the receipt named Kassandra. Two employees raised their eyebrows and the other looked away. I guess out of sight out of mind.

Read moreI don't ever write reviews but I felt the need to warn anyone who isn't already in the loop with this place:
This Chipotle simply doesn't care about the franchise rules.
They are usually open for lunch but after 4pm there's a strong chance all the workers give up and close shop for the day. I can't count the amount of times I've been inconvenienced and wasted a trip, I had to start calling ahead and asking if they're even open. You will also notice the employees behind the line really don't want to be there. I get it, nobody does. But allowing employees to ignore customers choose not to work all day proves there's a lack of authority here. Every time I come I see literally no one doing anything that benefits the restaurant.
They also sporadically turn of mobile ordering for days at a time, so be wary of timing when you plan on picking up.
The quality of food is okay. I've been to other Chipotles that consistently have better quality, but this one isn't terrible. Still doesn't deserve any more than 1 star though, you will waste hours of your time just like me if you try visiting this location enough.
My suggestion: Don't even bother coming until management does something to address these issues. I hope these reviews start getting replies from the owner because he is either oblivious or thinks he found the cheat code in life by profiting off of this trainwreck. You can see when you organize reviews by newest that basically all of NE Philly hates this place. Owner - make a management change and let us know when you're ready to be a real Chipotle again, I'm ready to come back when you're ready to...
Read moreGot a burrito bowl here with white rice, pinto beans, smoked brisket, cheese, tomato salsa, guac, chili corn salsa, and sour cream. The bowl itself wasn’t at all that bad but it didn’t taste as great as you would originally expect considering the portion size was larger when I got it, drove back home after picking it up and ate my meal between 8-10 PM on Friday, January 10th then fell asleep near 1-2 AM. Woke up around 3-4 AM with an extremely heavy sick stomach and the need to throw up badly accompanied by a sense of dizziness, nausea, and stomachache which led to me realizing I got food poisoning. Unless you want to endure having to alternate between diarrhea and throwing up over and over again while throwing up so much that you have to blow out fragmented pieces of the “food” out of your nose with a tissue; have a repetitive cycle of trying to sleep which leads to sleeping for 1-2 hours then waking up and having to go through 20-30 minutes of that alternating pain then trying to go back to sleep again only to experience the same thing over and over for hours. I wouldn’t recommend going here regardless if it wasn’t as crowded or if the staff didn’t do anything wrong, dealt with it for the entirety of Saturday morning until the afternoon which I’m very thankful to God for staying with me during all of that. Currently it’s 6 in the morning on Monday, January 13th and I feel a lot better than I did before but I’m still currently healing and dealing with lightheadedness and a bit of dehydration due to all the fluids that we’re...
