I REALLY love the produce, pastries, and reasonable prices of this market. I have been coming here since 2018. My spouse used to work there as a manager/supervisor which was great considering we were expecting our first child and they give a discount to their employees and their spouses. When my spouse decided to part ways in order to pursue a greater career option, it has been a nightmare to shop there! The girls who were "overly friendly" to him and disregarded me when I would do my groceries became more and more RUDE AND DISTASTEFUL each time I went. I had Tonya, who I'm not sure if she works there anymore FOLLOW ME ailse through ailse like a stalker. One day I had to leave mid way doing shopping because she made me so uncomfortable. I had Masha and another lady with reddish hair tell me I was ignorant about my WIC purchase TODAY when this would be the 6th time I shopped there for my WIC groceries to be told for the first time today they didn't want to help me and I was holding everyone back for my mistake when before today I have NEVER had this issue. I explained to them that my spouse used to work here and could possibly help with fixing this issue in case there was a process to it and was told "we don't care who your family is". I asked if it was necessary to re scan every single item again being that I have a 3 month old baby and to be told "we don't care about babies either". This is absolutely unnecessary and unacceptable!!! I will NEVER return to this store again and it is a shame that not one or 2 but 4 employees went out of their way today to be disrespectful to myself when I have been a customer...
Read moreWe live in Central NJ, so every time we are in the Northeast Philly, we go grocery shopping at NetCost.
Today, our GPS showed us that the Welsh Rd location was closer than the one on Bustleton. It was our 1st time at NetCost Welsh Rd and we really liked the place.
True that it is smaller compared to other NetCost locations, and the choices are somewhat more limited. However, it is also less crowded, more "cozy", less waiting time spent by cash registers, etc.
Every food specialty familiar to the ex-residents of the former Soviet Union is extensively represented at NetCost Welsh Rd, such as Ukrainian/Russian dumplings, herring, caviar, "black" rye bread, pickles, cold cuts, sausages, smoked sturgeon, chicken, pork and beef "cutlets" (or rather meatloaves), wide variety of "ready-to-go" foods, including crab and "Olivier" salads, spicy grated carrots Korean-style, "vinaigrette" (beet salad), "pirozhki" (a kind of Eastern European samosa), borscht and "solyanka" (vegetable and cold cuts soup), "kvas" (fermented Ukrainian refreshment beverage), packaged buckwheat, and dozens and dozens of other food items.
But don't get us wrong. The regular food staples, fruits and veggies, butcher corner, sauces, grains, cookies and pastries, chocolate and candies, canned food, and even Halal food section, you can find all of the above at NetCost Welsh...
Read moreI was treated like a second class citizen at the Netcost Market located at 2417 Welsh Road, Philadelphia, PA 19114. The young male cashier named U. Makhsud was extremely rude to me. He place the change (from the money that I put in his hand) on the counter and NOT IN MY HAND. I asked him to pick it up and place my change in my hand he flatly refused so I insisted. Finally with the worst attitude I have ever seen he put it in my hand. I was so disgusted with this young man that I decided to write this email review. Also to add insult to injury a worker told the security guard that my grandson ( who has downs syndrome) was sampling food in the store. When he was only eating the blueberries I had just purchased from the RUDE cashier. This was my first time shopping at this market. This kind of behavior must STOP. There is a correct way to treat people and a wrong way to treat them. This was certainly...
