Orchid Flower Shop — Local services in Philadelphia

THIS IS NOT THE WORK OF ORCHID FLOWER SHOP: Our daughter was married in Philadelphia this past weekend--in a snowstorm. Months ago we approached Orchid Flower Shop about doing the flowers for her wedding. They were recommended by the church. They told us to contact them closer to the time and we would flesh out the details. I reached out to them again in November and showed them examples of the aesthetic we were looking for. They advised that although they weren't sure what types of flowers would be available, they could nevertheless give us the look we wanted. I was told we would be emailed a proposal. By December we'd heard nothing. When we were about a month and a few days out from the wedding, we contacted a florist near where we live in New Jersey. Julia Ramos accepted the job and delivered in ways exceeding what we imagined. She was so committed to the work that in the middle of a nor'easter, she showed up and decorated both the sanctuary and the reception venue beautifully. Orchid was one street over from the church and couldn't even bring themselves to actually say "no" to the job. They just didn't respond--although they said they would. By contrast, a florist 35 miles away drove through the snow because she was committed and refused to allow the weather to ruin our daughter's special day. That's not just good customer service. My best friends mom died. Everyone pitched in at work and decided to give a few dollars to get her some flowers. I was desperately searching online for a florist to send her some flowers. I was considering proflowers and a few others but I read some bad reviews and horror stories and decided to just go with a local florist.

From the moment I called Orchid, I felt very much at ease and the guy I spoke with put my mind at ease. He was very nice and answered all of my questions. I picked up the arrangement on Monday, (but they also have delivery).

The Florist was there. He was so nice and humble. I felt as though I was a long time customer. That to me was very impressive. The big plus was that the arrangement was so beautiful. You can tell that he really took time and put alot of work and heartfelt feeling in. Everybody at work commented on how beautiful the flowers were.

My friend was very moved and sent an email to everyone at work thanking them. I appreciate the quality of service and the way I as the customer was treated. I would definitely use them again in the future and recommend them versus some online unknown company. I was searching for the perfect thank you gift for my old boss because I really do appreciate her, but I kept finding bad reviews on a lot of flower shops.
