SMH Iāve been living in Trenton New Jersey mostly all of my life and decided to buy my first home in Philadelphia. Thank you God for the opportunity. My biggest concern is that I was so excited about moving to Philadelphia and notice a street full of junkies and the cops were standing right there not doing anything to clear the streets. I have a son thatās in college and heās a junior, I am so disappointed that I brought my first home in Philadelphia leaving New Jersey to witness something like this ā¦the mayor has to be ashamed of herself.. I thought I would be so proud to be a Philadelphia resident and Iāve only been here for three weeks. The Block with all the junkies is called Kingsington if Iām not mistaken, it looks like a zombie full of junkies in a movie. What kind of example are you guys setting for our children coming from different areas and backgrounds? My son wants to transfer his college credits to Philadelphia. I told him hell. NOOOOO. you finish in Bloomfield, New Jersey, and thatās that.(IS IT ME OR AM I GOING CRAZY..? Iām confused on how I would spend my weekends around Philadelphia having fun with friends come there to eat and come back to jersey and talk about how much fun I had.. just to move here and be disappointed in how the streets are looking on a different part Philadelphia. Donāt get me wrong. Trenton, New Jersey has its rough side Camden, New Jersey has rough size Newark New Jersey has The size, but nothing compared to this..
The Mayor needs to be ashamed of herself And cleaned up Kensington...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was born and raised in Philadelphia, and my experience here has been a living nightmare. There is a complete lack of control, only empty promises. The latest outrage is that my family is now subjected to club music until 4:00 AM. "Happy Hour" is anything but. I am leaving this city.
I issue this warning: come to Philadelphia at your own risk. The city ignores legal lawsuits. Everything is perpetually "about to happen," yet nothing ever changes. I have lost three family members to murder in just two years. In one instance, the victim was a case of mistaken identity. Drug dealers operate openly, selling drugs in broad daylight while police either wave or drive by without intervening. I have personally witnessed police officers tell drug dealers, "Don't stand out here selling all day," and then simply drive away. I know entire blocks where individuals operate with impunity, fearing no consequences for their actions. Calling the police is a futile exercise; you'll either be laughed at or told that the police will eventually return, which rarely happens.
People are allowed to start fires in abandoned houses, and if you report it to the police, you are treated as a nuisance. My own house was almost burned down weeks ago due to such a fire. This is the reality of winter in Philadelphia: the pervasive smell of smoke in your home, car, and clothes. This city...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am supportive of you as mayor. I am encouraged by your vision and I support your efforts. This past Thursday was the worst experience I recall on the expressway. Although I recognize the need to repave the highway, I think it started to early and there was too much going on at one time. It appeared to be an aggressive effort to get the job done. As a commuter, it sent people into almost rage. People were cutting one another off and driving in lanes that were coned off. It was extremely extremely stressful. Then there was a car fire on the other side of the highway. It was a total disregard of commuters and it was a total disregard of mental health issues that are rampant today. People need clear and organized preparation for things like this. That move was not well thought out for citizens. Great photo opportunity for politicians. Please keep us in mind, and the disruption to our lives when making these decisions. Again I support your efforts and I know one person cannot solve this city's problems. It takes all of us. And all of us are capable of misjudgement and mistakes. I am sharing because I want to make u aware and hopefully this will be considered in the next big undertaking. Took a chance to get off on Roosevelt extension not...
