I've been going here for a few months and am so happy I've found it. It's a great environment and my nails are super healthy even after getting gel multiple times.
Here are some quick facts for those who are anxious like me: • It's in Fishtown, so it's street parking, and it can be tough. If coming by car, arrive 15 minutes early to find a spot. You may have to walk a few blocks. • No acrylics, dip, hard gel, etc is done here; it's either normal polish, or gel. The gel polish brand is The GelBottle Inc and I believe the normal polish brand is Palate Polish. The manicures are waterless (your hands don't soak in anything). • The salon does not use e-files. This is REALLY important to me since my nails got trashed by improper e-file use at another salon. Gel is removed here with the soak+scrape method, which causes no damage. • Two people work here: Chelsie and Veronica. They do their own scheduling via the website (there's no separate receptionist). • There is a manicure area near the front, and a pedicure area near the back. The pedicure area has a wall barrier, so weirdos walking by on the street can't see your feet. No free feet pics, y'all. • There is a seating area by the windows if you arrive early. • If my memory is correct, there is a step up to get inside. I'm not sure if there is a wheelchair-accessible back...
Read moreI love Rebel Nails so much! I always love my nails, but just as importantly for me, the atmosphere and experience are such an enjoyable and restorative form of self-care. I had one gel manicure at another salon many years ago, before I knew there were different kinds of gel polish and removal methods, and thought I would never do it again. Then a friend recommended Rebel & I'm so grateful to have found Chelsie and her amazing team. Now I can have pretty nails that survive my daily healthcare provider life (read: constantly hand washing and using hand sanitizer) for a full 2 weeks instead of 2 days. I also love that Rebel has "silent" service options and asks about accommodations that clients might need in their...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place as the staff and vibe was nice but my right hand nails are shorter than my left hand nails. They are so thick and lumpy, the apex nonexistent. The left hand shape she did great but the right hand nails had me contemplating whether my fingers are badly crooked or if my nail shape is slanting to the left. This was $82.80 and i was honestly just so disappointed and sad that i walked out of the salon hating it. I added in a pic of before i went in and after.
Update: went to another nail salon to get them removed and it chipped and flew off in chunks due to them not being cured fully and...
