Food is decent but my wife told me she had a bad experience picking up food there about a month ago. They lost her food, thought they gave it to someone else, then found it again and gave it to her cold. Whole ordeal took 15 extra minutes and they never once apologized about it seemed more annoyed at her than anything.
I ordered takeout this week and after 45 minutes went to pick it up based on the projected time it was supposed to be ready. The guy said bluntly “it’s not ready yet” and that I would get a text when it’s ready. I said okay and could he give me a timeframe because I needed to leave and he just said again bluntly “you’ll get a text when it’s ready”. I asked again for a ballpark timeframe because I would need to cancel it if it wasn’t ready soon and he couldn’t give me one other than point out it hadn’t been even started yet after 50 minutes so I cancelled the order. Like my wife, never once did I get an apology and he seemed annoyed that I was even asking.
It’s good they are busy but the food is not good enough to be rude to your neighborhood customers. Don’t plan on ordering...
Read moreI have been an avid supporter of this business since their early food truck days. I’m leaving this review to be as honest and transparent as possible. I love birria and elote, literally eat it all time. La chingonita has great food but the quality is inconsistent. I’ve been numerous times and the food has tasted different every time(I order the same thing everytime). One day the birria is amazing and the consume is very flavorful and the next day it is bland. As much as I’ve been rocking with them since the beginning, I’ve just been disappointed with the inconsistent quality of the food. This is exactly how it was when they only had the food truck, one day the food would be so flavorful and the next it would be very bland. The owners and workers are very sweet and I’m always here to support my Hispanic community, I just wish the me birria was flavorful everytime I eat there, not every other time. I also wish that the stools were more comfortable to sit in. They are tall with a low back, very uncomfortable. I’m hoping they ready these review and take the criticisms into...
Read moreIf you’re in Philadelphia and looking for an authentic, flavorful, and heartfelt food experience, you have to visit La Chingonita in Fishtown. The food is absolutely delicious—a perfect fusion of Puerto Rican and Mexican flavors that creates a unique and unforgettable taste.
But what really makes this place stand out goes beyond the food. The owners treat their employees with so much respect and kindness, something that’s truly rare to see. You can feel the positive energy and the family-like atmosphere, and that reflects directly in the service.
The restaurant is also spotless in terms of cleanliness—everything is well taken care of from the kitchen to the dining area.
I highly recommend that everyone go check it out, enjoy this amazing “MexiRican” culinary experience, and support one of the best food ventures in the city. La Chingonita doesn’t just feed your stomach—it...
