Lloyd — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Firstly I have driven pass often and wondered if this spot was poppin....I thought it'd be great for a wknd brunch or a quick lunch spot. Me & my co wrkr stopped in, to my surprise she doesn't drink...my Bad however we settled in for a quick bite/small plate.She ordered a Sprte spritzer w/ a hint of cranberry juice and I ordered a whiskey sour...it was not good. In fact their house drink calls for a splash of red wine on top....at 1st glance it looked appetizing like a desert drink but the wine taste was heavy like a merlot so Not a good drink, my friend ordered the caesar salad she asked for dressing on the side. She thought their dressing was too thick and mayonnaisey, to their defense, I liked it.. it was a lil thick however it had a creamy garlic base and possibly I'll try it another time . I ordered the chicken waffle sliders, it was totally underwhelming the waffle was cold, didn't seem fresh, soft or anything like a waffle, the syrup was watery, the chicken thigh was underseason and slightly undercooked ...it freaked me out a bit..so I was done. Every visit to Lloyd Whiskey Bar in Fishtown is an absolute must if you're in the area. What truly sets this place apart is the incredible talent behind the bar; no matter who is bartending, it's clear they are masters of their craft. The staff are fantastic at tailoring the experience to your preference – they're happy to delve into intricate details about the spirits and cocktails, or simply hand you a perfectly mixed drink without a fuss. On my last visit, I enjoyed two exceptional cocktails. I started with the Golden Handshake, a captivating blend of gin, Jelinek Czech amaro, fresh lime, honey, and organic kumquat bitters. It was perfectly balanced and incredibly refreshing. Following that, I savored the Penicillin, a classic done right with blended scotch, fresh lemon, honey, and ginger syrup, all topped with a delightful smoky scotch float. Both drinks were expertly prepared and truly showcased the bartenders' skill. Lloyd offers an outstanding experience for any cocktail enthusiast, or just someone looking for a top-tier drink....

As someone actually named Lloyd, my review is truly the only one that matters.

For someone not named Lloyd, the waiter did give a very Lloyd-like positive attitude. I have to say that I was a little disappointed that the actual Lloyd of this establishment was not at the restaurant to greet a fellow Lloyd at the door…. but I digress…

We began with the Lloyd Boilerplate (Lloyd lager & Lloyd whiskey) - A great Lloyd pairing… a Lloyd combo you could say.

For dinner, I ordered the Lloyd Burger (done Lloyd-style) which was naturally excellent. You can’t name something like that and not be excellent TBH. There was an option for bacon and bacon onion jam which is very much Lloyd if you ask me (Lloyd).

The aesthetic of this place is very Lloyd. Good friends, good family, good food. I feel like they’re missing a big opportunity to have more Lloyds in the restaurant.

Overall I’d say this is a very Lloyd-approved restaurant and would recommend this to anyone named Lloyd or anyone friends...
