Avoid this church. I have never been so offended in my entire life. The priest tried to force us to start the ceremony early..as people were still arriving. I told him that if was not yet 3:00, that we were 5 minutes early. He replied that this is when we werr starting, then turned to mothe and told her to walk down the isle. She stated that she would- as soon as my brother finished escorting her elderly aunt down the aisle. He argued witg her and commanded that she just walk in by herself. He continued berating her when she refused. Meanwhile, once my brother returned to escort her, the priest was sending arriving guests down the aisle with them, ruining the photos. Next, turned to me, grabbed my arm, pushed me backwards and tried force me down the aisle for my sister's wedding! The bride objectedand went to get my father. Which is when he grabbed another bridesmaid and told her if she did not start walking he was leaving without marrying the couple.
Now, we had the church from 3:00pm to 4:15. We only did a ceremony, not the full mass. We would not have gone over. In fact, we finished at 3:35 and we began taking pictures. The priest turned the lights off on us at 3:55. And disappeared. It was the worst I have ever seen a bride treated in my life. I have never seen a priest behave this way. It was atrocious. No wonder people are leaving the Catholic Church in droves if people like this are representing them. How dare he act like this after my sister and her husband "donated" over $1000 to have him marry them. The happiest day of their lives, the first day of their life together..and this monster would not let them wait until their actual start time so the last of their guests could...
Read moreSupportive, smart, gorgeous spaces, welcoming- had a truly wonderful experience with Father Tim officiating over an intimate Christening of our family's newest little boy. We shared the time with another young family who were having their wee girl Baptized; and Father took such patient care to (re) educate all generations present as to the Sacred meanings of each step- so Joyous!
That same morning, the St. Patrick Parade dignitaries and participants were celebrating a stunning Mass in the Cathedral above prior to their festivities. Both thrilling and humbling to see how beautifully the Catholic Church is serving our Philly neighborhoods, and its Faith-seeking guests and...
Read moreMy husband and I had our wedding here on 7/2/21 and it was absolutely wonderful. Fr. Cordell was the priest that married us and made the ceremony such a nice day for us and our friends and family. Father was the third priest assigned to our wedding but he did not treat us as strangers when we met him the night of the rehearsal. I highly suggest this church to get married in as you will also get photos to last a lifetime.
