Soft Serve: 10/10 Hard Scoop: 10/10 Management?: 2/10
This is a small ice cream shop, with a very large demand. Here are the things that keep me coming back: -FLAVORS, FLAVORS, FLAVORS! Thai Tea, Italian Butter Cookie, Upscale Vanilla. This is a small example of the amazing flavors you can get. The soft serve is super creamy, and the hard scoops are never "hard". The mix-ins are always great compliments. 10/10. THE PROBLEM however, is the way the store is run. -Multiple times I have gone towards close, and the last person in line is tasked by an EMPLOYEE, to tell other people that they will not be served after them. This has lead to the people not being served, CUSSING OUT the last patron as if they're an employee and it's their fault. -Flavors are constantly out, and no employees change the sign or make alterations to let guests in line know ahead of time. So you could wait for 45 minutes, get to order, and the flavor you came for is gone, with only the worker telling you once you're at the front. -Long wait times. Usually on a Friday or Saturday, the wait is not as bad as the line may seem. However, on if its a nice night on a Wednesday or Thursday, you will be waiting a LONG time. Maybe staff 3 workers instead of 2, and you could have someone address these issues during the shift instead of them fester.
Overall, I would recommend 1-900, however due to the poor efficiency of the management, I frequently tell myself that the ice cream is not worth the effort it takes to wait or deal with employees with no direction from management. I've never seen the owner there, in the trenches at 8:30 on a Friday night, and he is constantly turning the 1-900 social media pages into his own personal food blog. Hopefully this changes, but until then, I will most likely be going a 5 when the fun...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood soft serve ice cream, but definitely pricey for what it is. The line was long when we arrived, but it moved fairly fast. I see on their social media they do wackier flavors, and they are one of the closest ice cream shops to Rittenhouse so that may justify the price tag.
We got basic flavors: chocolate/vanilla swirl, chocolate with sprinkles, and blue/vanilla twist all in cups. They put the soft serve in these tiny white cups (about the size of a water cooler cup), which made it very hard to transport since it was so small the ice cream was melting out of the cup. We also got a scoop of chocolate brownie, and they put it in a bigger cup. I would recommend putting soft serve and scoops into the same larger size cups. One reason to choose a cup over a cone is to avoid the ice cream melting all over your hands.
Definitely a convenient place to get ice cream if you're enjoying a hot day out in Rittenhouse and are craving a cold treat. Get a cone since it's no different in messiness than a cup (actually a cone will probably be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLook at the perfect swirl of the soft serve! The soft serve was rich and creamy with a smooth texture. We were shocked to get 8oz of soft serve for only $6 after we paid extra $0.5 for the waffle cone! Also if youāre wondering, it was totally worth it to get the waffle cone.
If I ever go back Iāll try the coffee cookie dough ice cream that we didnāt have enough stomach space to try.
ļ¼ Vanilla Soft Serve with Dark Chocolate Dip My friend ordered this classic combo, simple but delicious. The Valrhona dark chocolate shell was thin and crispy, giving a satisfying crunch as we bit into it.
ļ¼Turkish Coffee & Donut Twist Soft Serve I was not the only person who was brave enough to order coffee soft serve at late night, as I kept seeing people holding the coffee/donut twist.
The Turkish coffee tasted so unique that it didnāt taste like any other regular coffee soft serve. It captured a strong and robust flavor. While the donut side was sweeter and helped mellow out the intensity...
