I have always had a pleasant shopping experience and received good customer service but cannot say the same for consigning with them. I called a few times to see if I sold anything but each time I was told the items were just put out not too long ago. After my third time calling, I decided to go in and take stock of what items of mine were there. There were quite a few that weren’t to be found but told I hadn’t yet sold anything. When I asked then I must still have items in the back that haven’t been put out yet? They had no answer And when I asked can you tell me what if anything had sold, the person got flustered and defensive and said we have a system here and I can’t pay you until the consignment with them had ended. I wasn’t asking to be paid, I know the policy. I was asking if anything had sold. When someone is running an honest business, they don’t get flustered or defensive. I had brought in a few designer pieces in practically new condition and didn’t see them on the floor but yet was told they hadn’t sold. While I can’t know for sure I can go with my gut instinct that I had many of my items sell for more than I got paid. I have the print out form of what my items were priced at and I know the percentage I’m to receive when an item sells and it doesn’t add up. They said that items that don’t sell are marked down but I had been in a few times times to check and never saw many of my items but a few things which I decided to take back. The last time I went in was to collect a check for which I received only $19 for approximately 15 items I brought in. I believe many of the items sold for the original full price they had marked them at but told me as they have told others that they sold for less. I also found another item of mine the day I went to get my payment after I was told it had sold! I have consigned with other shops in the past and have received checks for as much as $75 so I know something isn’t right. Along with that, I also found them to be very disorganized. Read moreI have been a consigner/customer for 17 years. Mary is a pioneer in the consignment business. (40+ years). It is an outstanding family run store! The items she takes in are always in excellent condition and of good quality. She even has designer items and the prices are spot on. If you have consigned items and for whatever reason they did not sell, (because remember, its not the shops fault it did not sell, your item has to find the right buyer). You have the option to pick the items up or they can be donated for you. There are many nice things that come in, and very often the items are unique. If you are searching for a particular item, Mary will do her very best to find it and if it can't be found, she will offer an alternative to you. Her selection is vast and you may appreciate the alternative works better than what you had in mind. She gives her honest opinions, unlike some merchants that tell you what you want to hear just to get the sale. Mary tells it like it is. She is a very kind gentle woman and her children that help run the store Manny and Jaime are equally honest, gentle and kind. Read morePLEASE please donate your furniture instead of using this store. Horrible is an accurate description of my experience. The store lost the slats for my bed and charged me to replace them. Mary's son (?) called me 4 times in a row after I said I could not speak at the moment. He wanted to know how to put new slats on the bed. This is odd, considering they are furniture salesmen and should have experience with this. Mary did not send me my check for 5 months until I sent ALL CAPS emails. Anddddd... I lost money. I made $176.50 which did not cover moving costs. She did not provide a quote for me before I gave her my bed. She did tell me moving costs would be about $250. I can only deduce she knew I would lose money on this transaction but encouraged me to use her services. I had no recourse. This happened 3 years ago, and I still relive the heck she put me through.
