Today (07/23/2018 around 7pm) was my first experience at Learning Express. I decided to come by and check out the things they had after hearing so much about it by children and parents who love it. And entering the store, it smells amazing and the things they have are so colorful and appealing to the eye. It was beautiful. However after being there for a few minutes, no one had acknowledge me nor my spouse. I figured maybe it was because they just simply didn't see us. As we go about and being intrigued by the things this store carries, I find my spouse and I to be near the front. Now at this point my body is facing the exact same way the employee was with clear view and again, no acknowledgement. I turn to see why and she was facing her back towards the registers just texting! When I got to the very front of the registers by the sloth books, another employee is there with the one who is no longer texting, she takes a glance at me and continues to speak quietly to her peer. When it's time to be checked out she grabbed my item and says "that's it?" Not a hello, not a sincere smile. At that point I was disappointed and just nodded my head, swiped my card and left. I work in retail myself and don't necessarily expect 110% excellent customer service but I do expect and would like a welcoming or acknowledgement. Especially being a children's store of Learning and education, one would think they'd be more enthusiastic...
Read moreI am very unhappy with the way my daughter and I were treated as customers. I wanted an exclusive item that was one per customer. I wanted 2 sizes, a big one for me and a smaller for my daughter as we collect mommy and me items. They did not allow it, apparently she is not a customer? This is a toy store, children are in fact their customers or they wouldn’t even be in business. Everything I buy there is for her. The one time I wanted something for myself as well they said no. They lost 2 customers now and I won’t recommend their store to anyone.
I wanted to add that my daughter lit up when I handed her the item but the owner who I was talking to didn’t even bat and eye. It was heartbreaking that she isn’t considered a customer in their eyes.
My daughter is not an infant. She is 3 years old and she loves Squishmallows and has a collection of her own, plus grandma gave her $20 for her birthday. Also I asked the person I was talking to if she was the owner (or maybe I said manager) and she said yes, I even acknowledged a conversation I had over the phone about tonies with the owner and she...
Read moreThe very first time I shopped at this toy store, my son picked out his toy, a box set of Pokémon cards, and we proceeded to the register. The cashier informed me that the price tag on the box was incorrect. I double-checked the price tag with the item name, and they matched. So I asked if they were sure it was wrong. They insisted that it was incorrect and that the price tag must be replaced to reflect the accurate price. This was an almost 50% price difference. I called the store owner the next day, and this is where I became disappointed. The owner argued that there was no way she’d sell that box set for the price shown on the original sticker price and that she was disappointed in me that I’d even attempt to have the actual sticker price honored. I couldn’t believe that, for a single box, I’d be spoken to in such a rude manner. I won’t be shopping there again and would caution anyone to verify their purchase price because they can swap out prices at will. Their store, their...
