Quick Summary: Sanji most definitely DOES NOT cook here.
But that's not totally fair to the whole experience.
Full review:
I want to start this by saying that every One Piece fan should come here at least once and form their own opinions, because at the very least is nice for a restruant to appeal to your likes such as this does for OP fans. Please read through reviews carefully, I have noticed many 5 star reviews mention that the food is unseasoned and lacking as well.
Moving on, the atmosphere and theme were actually 10/10, I love how cute the theming is. That's about all I have to say. It's fun to go to once if you're a OP fan. Service seemed to be having an off day but overall were fairly kind and food came off relatively quick considering the size of our party.
The food? Appetizers are about the highlight, at least the scallion pancake and the pork baos were really good. But past that the food is so geniuinely middle of the road. Nothing was offensive or bad, but nothing about the food excited me. And the nicest thing I can say bout the main entrees are that they came out in great temperature, are well presented, and cooked thoroughly. But that's it.
To start off, when ordering their sunny bowl, which is just a make your own bowl, you're not allowed to go half-n-half on your base, nowhere else in Miami have I heard that you cannot go half spring mix and half rice or w/e else when making your own bowl. Then, they said they cannot remove shrimp or krab from the pineapple fried rice to accomdate a shellfish allergy.
Now, I can totally understand advising some with an allergy to NOT order the dish as they can't guarantee the tools and cooking surface will be fully cleaned. But to say you can't remove these items gives the impression that all the food is either premade and reheated or just not made fresh, there's no other explanation that you can't omit a protein from the dish in my eyes at least.
In following this trend, all of the entres in our party of 7 was undwhelming save for the hot pot. One friend did not touch their food due to their disappointment, but despite this issue being brought up at the end staff was accomdating and allowed him to exchange the plate for another one.
We had the pork belly udon bowl, the tonkatsu ramen bowl, the pineapple fried rice, the fries on the burger, and the pork belly stir fry all of which were all unseasoned. Literally not a spec of salt on the fries. And all of us reached for some sauces on the side to add to our dishes to try and enjoy the food. Which is a little unfortunate giving the price of a plate is nearing 20$ or surpasses them even.
Broccoli and other veggies in the make your own bowls were steamed/boiled, not stir fried with the rest of the food. And just everything follows this, 20$ plates of food that are unseasoned and uninspired.
Again, it was all thoroughly cooked at as, great temperature, presentation was very nice, I just would not eat here again
That said, their boba shop location is 10/10 and the drinks are INCREDIBLE. Same goes for here, the drinks are top notch and id do anything for an all blue disperseanry straight...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying I'm not a One Piece fan, so I went purely because my friends are all fans and because I wanted to try out the food.
Once we sat down, the service was already off to a bad start with our server (who seemed to be a manager/owner), seemingly rushing us to put our orders in for appetizers & drinks. After some wait and our food eventually arrived, I was extremely disappointed with my entree. I got a sunny bowl, with the driest katsu chicken as my protein. Everything tasted like it had zero seasoning and to add onto the insult, the "sunny egg" that I added as a more expensive add on, was practically almost burnt. That egg was definitely not sunny side, and it was probably burnt by the sun itself with how disappointing it was. This was the first time I got food at a restaurant that made me instantly lose my appetite. The appetizer I got (cheese rangoons) were pretty much all I ate and even then, they tasted mediocre at best, but at almost $10, it was also an insult.
To add insult to injury, the whole time that we were there, we didn't get any service. Not a single water refill until they came up to us to ask us if we were ready to leave and we had to ASK them. Our group got an automatic "large group" (6 people) tip added onto our bill, so the appetizer + entree came up to a total of about $38. Never again will I be coming to this establishment because it's outrageous that it's beyond expensive for how bad it was. The ONLY reason I'm giving them a two star is for service is because when I asked for a refund for basically not touching my food (which they refused), they gave me an extra entree to take home. My mother said she enjoyed it, but I personally thought it was also just decent.
Someone in my group noticed that they had a sign outside that said they would "give you a gift" if you showed them a five star review and I find that extremely disappointing because I didn't see that before going in and that instantly would have made me lower my...
Read moreI had the wagu gyoza (highly doubt it’s real wagu but that’s whatever lol), miso hotpot and captain buggy drink (raspberry lemonade) I’d rate my meal 7/10.
I went with a party of 6 during an off time, we were considered a large party and an automatic 18% tip was added to our bill. This was a bit annoying only bc the service was not great overall. And unfortunately although I was happy with my meal everyone else felt very underwhelmed/disappointed and one of my friends barely touched his food he disliked it so much 😭 many felt their food was unseasoned and bland. We had to ask for water several times (it doesn’t help that their water cups are tiny so several refills are bound to be necessary), we were given very little utensils and napkins so we had to ask for those as well. Service just felt a bit disorganized unfortunately, and they seem a bit unwilling to make accommodations to the menu. My friends wanted the pineapple fried rice but he’s allergic to shellfish and the server was like ok but then there’s nothing in it if we take out the krab and shrimp…. Like ok y’all can’t offer to switch the protein 😭? Another friend wanted to do half and half on their bowl and they said it couldn’t be done either, and when asked if they had plain unsweetened green tea they said yes but it would be the same prices as one of their boba fruit teas… aka $7.50. Essentially the food was very ok and overpriced, a drink appetizer and meal was just shy of $50. This did not match the quality of the overall experience.
I felt the theming was very cute and there were a lot of very nice attention to detail when it came to that aspect but the music was very quiet barely audible and minor nitpicks: the women’s restroom did not have any hooks to hang bags/purses and they don’t have a toilet paper holder so the roll was just balancing on top of the disability rail next...
