Well, I just finished up a shopping trip at this location with my 1 year old son. So I'll Start from the beginning, about my experience at Save-A-Lot. This is my honest opinion. From the beginning, as i entered the parking lot,the Save-A-Lot . Was not well maintained and the landscape was none it was somewhat gross looking in appearance from the outside. Including the Save-A-Lot it self. It was easy to find a parking space though because it was not very busy at all. There were plenty of carts outside in the cart rack though they did look mostly a bit warped and some faded a bit, and moderately old, though they did have belts for children in them. As we approached the doors to the store, we both noticed the customers cared little about there personal appearance and seemingly personal hygiene, as they were from the neighborhood neighboring and surrounding this location. As we entered this location the first thing I noticed was the floors, just as you walk in where the carts are parked. The black carpeted carts area was a victim of the poor hygiene and disrespectful nature of the locals. And staff seemed to care nothing what so ever about keeping it vacuumed, as it was disgusting to the point I nearly walked out right there. I moved on though, to start my trip at the produce just as you walk past the carts. The produce was half way decent. not a large selection, but mostly decent. The grapes though where obviously picked off of and eaten by a local bumpkin. As there where grape stems exposed at the top of each bunch and all bags where open. I bought one with the intent to cut a section off so my family wouldn't get bumpkin-itis. I did also refuse the florescent green bananas, as green bananas only contain starch and no nutrient at this stage of ripeness. Worthless to anyone with a healthy cologne. cabbage and potatoes I bought were decent though. The cereal was priced cheap but did all contain higher sugar, sodium, and corn syrup mostly, then the national brands. From there, the meat surprisingly was decent and I found some good deals in the meat. Decent steaks there and steroid free chicken quarters. Though the meat guy didn't seem to happy to be there and did not ask if there was anything he could help with. From there Canned veggie's and condiments were adequate basics. Sides and noodles were the same. A very basic selection. The soda which I don't buy was adequate store brand selection, for the most part. Chips and snacks nearly all had Monosodium Gluctamate (M.S.G.). I could only find plain lays store brand that were MSG Free. Lunch meat and seafood was reasonably pried and moderate in selection and fairly well kept. Frozen food was a moderate selection also and not so well kept but decent price and selection. But as with the snacks a lot of items with MSG (Heart Attack City). The bread was OK but did contain Calcium Peroxide in every loaf variation. Calcium peroxide is yellow powder form of Hydrogen Peroxide, that turns into it's bleach form when it touches acidic things like stomach acid. At the end of my shopping trip I was also cut off while standing just to the right of the line to enter the line, by a very white trash local. She swore in front of my child and refused to allow me my space and never asked if I was waiting. Instead of the cashier and tattooed overweight pointy bearded management leading the customer after witnessing this they just used silent aggression towards me along with another slovenly local and led me to another line saying nothing to the Yankee sponger while I continued to have to defend my self and my son as we left the store. Myself spending more in Cash not stamps then anyone else at the registers at the time. So my first real trip to Save-A-Lot was a dislike and I will not go back if at all possible. And I'll give it 0 stars, didn't like the experience. And I also found mold in the center of my grapes. And twice now I've had women pay for my groceries. I don't need handouts, and especially not from women or minorities, or any other...
Read moreThis save a lot has changed. It looks beautiful compared to others. It appear they have updated the store. The isles are wider. The shelves are new. The signs are new. There are no annoying racks in narrow isles. No pallets laying on the floor. This is the example the rest need to follow. Thank you store 60114 you are the best and cleanest store. Now please encourage the rest to follow your lead. It is going to feel so much better shopping in a clean well arranged store. It no longer feels like 10 lbs of sh!t in a 5lb box. I won't be bothering to shop at any of the other stores. It's worth the extra mile to not feel embarrassed and not feel like a rat in an obstacle course like store 60075 on 49th street St. Petersburg . That place is horrible. I live very close but chose to drive to Kenneth city. Even before the...
