ABC Seafood restaurant — Restaurant in Pinellas Park

We came here today after visiting The Museum of American Arts and Crafts in downtown St. Petersburg, hoping to compliment the pleasant trip with an authentic Cantonese dinner that the ABC once was known for. But it turned out to be a most unpleasant experience - not only foods were horrible but also the service bad. We ordered a Fish Fillets & Tofu clay pot and a Roasted Duck Meat Chow Fun w/ XO sauce, but when the young waiter brought out the Chow Fun, it became Seafoods Chow Fun. The waiter didn’t want to admit his mistake, instead he accused us of placing wrong order. He even argued that the fish fillet clay pot I ordered had nothing to do with seafood and insisted that my mentioning of seafood had made him “changed” my wife’s duck chow fun to seafood chow fun!

I was so upset and canceled the chow fun order altogether and hoped to settle with the fish fillet tofu clay pot. But even that was far from the reputation we came here for - the fish was tasteless and the tofu mediocre at best. We left without finishing it.

Still paid 18% tip as the lady waitress came around to savage the situation and she was nice lady doing her best to calm us down, and I appreciated that.

Also, we wanted to point out, we asked to speak to the manager on duty but the manager refused to meet us.

Just wanted to get this out there so none would have to endure our mistake as the reviews averaged still at a lofty 4.3. If not because of that mid age waitress who were nice and professional, I would give...

St Petersburg, FL 018 6/24/2023Updated review I would love to give ABC Seafood Chinese Restaurant a five for its deliciously prepared food and expansive selections of Chinese cuisine.The dining room is clean with good looking furnishings and decor that enhance the meal. It all states this is fine Chinese dining, not a take-out joint.

But the service is substandard to the point we were agitated and worn out trying to have a relaxed evening of dining! The lighting can't be dimmed, so it feels as if you are eating in a cafeteria with the bright glare from the light fixures. A young child sitting on the floor behind the counter without toys or books started screaming during our meal at his older brother who was doing something that aggravated the child.

The waitstaff is abrupt, non-smiling order takers. One waitress was actually running at all times form table to kitchen, which made no sense, since there was no line of people waiting for tables. I actually asked her to stop running, but it did no good.

Drinks are not replenished. Coke cans are left on the table next to your glass. Food dishes are dropped quickly on the table with little regard as to who ordered the dish. Waiter does not stop by to see if everything is ok or what else you need.

Trying to dine with all the commotion including the banging as dirty dishes are cleared from the tables is disturbing.

We loved the food, but were relieved to get out of such a disturbing...

Nooooo, this used to be my go to spot for Chinese. I think they have new owners and new cooks because the food and service were BAD. The menu has been changed, a lot of stuff is gone.

I came in and was not greeted even though two staff had to have seen me standing there as they passed by...had to walk over, interrupt her and ask if it's seat yourself or...?

Our order was not taken in turn, she took orders of two other tables that were seated after us...food took a very long time to come out. We never got drink refills.

Fried rice and lo mein were not good and did not have any flavor. The white rice that came with the sesame chicken was still crunchy and not cooked all the way. The char siu pork was not good. There is no longer any chow fun on the menu.

I had to go ask for boxes and the check and paid at the counter...otherwise we would have been sitting there forever (almost there for two hours already). They were very busy with only one lady I saw that was taking orders and another lady that was running food...very disorganized and they need more help probably in front and the kitchen.

Probably will not be returning unless they are able to fix...
