Allegheny is (for now) the northern terminus of the Pittsburgh Regional Transit light rail system and it is served by all three lines - Blue, Red and Silver. It is on the north shore.
The station is above ground and exposed to the elements so if it's windy, the platform will be cold and if it's rainy, the platform will be wet and slippery. Use caution.
Escalators, elevators and stairs, the station has two tracks with an island platform. There is decent signage for those who are unfamiliar with the station which is likely as other than commuters, you're in walking distance to the Steelers stadium and the Carnegie Science Center.
The station is in the "free fare" zone so you do not need a ticket to board or exit here, but if you're headed beyond the city center, you will need a ticket...

The elevator smells like pee most of the time.
I think it would have been better if this station was underground instead of above ground. The ramp it has to go up to switch from being underground to above ground takes up a lot of valuable space in the North Shore. That space was parking lots for Heinz Field before they expanded the T. And if it was underground, it would have made it easier to expand the track further into the North Shore. If it was underground they could have gone under 65, now I guess they will have to go over it if they ever expand it, which...
