The ticketing experience has been very strange indeed. I never received the confirming email that I was told I would receive when I made the original order by telephone. I called and requested the email but when it arrived most of the information on it was incorrect. I had to call and have it corrected. Then I never received the tickets. When I called about that, the agent told me the tickets are likely lost in the mail and “that happens all the time.” A supervisor was to have called me to clarify that the original tickets have been voided. I want to be assured of that since I am giving these tickets as a gift to three people, and I don’t want them to arrive at the theater only to find that their seats have been taken by others! I am not condfident the original tickets will be voided because so far the ticketing process has been so messy. Well I was never called by a supervisor. That’s been three days now. So I called again and got another agent. This agent was not surprised at all to hear about my not receiving the tickets because she said “tickets get lost in the mail...that happens all the time.” I would think the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust would want to investigate why the tickets they mail get lost, and “it happens all the time.” I take that to mean frequently as opposed to all the time. But don’t they care to know why? Isn’t it an expense to reprint and pay postage a second time? The entire telephone ticketing process wasn’t at all what I expected from this organization. I hope the reprinted tickets arrive. Eventually. And the originals are voided by now. They have no way to verify that they have in fact done...
Read moreI have been seeing shows with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust for over a decade, and after today they get one star from me. I ordered two tickets to see a performance of Pretty Woman, however the day of the show came and we were under a sever weather advisory. Freezing rain, ice accumulation, and snow. I live almost 2 hrs from Pittsburgh and with these weather conditions I did not feel it was wise to risk driving down and back for the show. After being on hold for two hours I was informed that I could exchange the tickets for a different day. After I agreed to that and picked a different day, I was told it would be almost a $50 charge to exchange them. At this point I wanted a refund because there was no way I could get to the show and the weather was only getting worse. I ended up having to leave a message regarding the situation because there was no one available for me to talk to about a refund. When I was finally called back, I was told that they would not refund me because the weather was not a valid reason to not come see a show, and that they could only offer me an exchange for a different day. This...
Read morePlease don’t make the same mistake as I did, avoid purchasing the ticket protection. It’s completely useless and honestly invasive. If I’m paying extra money for the possibility of a refund due to unforeseeable circumstances.. that should be enough. I’ve paid for the protection. Why ever would a venue/service need to know so many details as to why I can’t come? It’s insane that I’d have to provide a doctor’s note or a letter from my mechanic. I always pay extra for coverage in case something goes wrong. I’ve never encountered coverage with so many stipulations and requirements. They really do not want to ensure you get a refund, even after paying for the protection. I’m just so disappointed with my situation here. It’s a complete waste of money and has given me such a sour taste for the venue for even promoting it while purchasing tickets. I don’t leave reviews often, but after struggling to “prove” why I can’t attend the event I paid for, I felt I should warn anyone about the ticket protection. It’s a...
