The staff were very friendly and welcomed me as soon as I was in earshot. They directed me immediately to where the menus were on the counter. I had already looked at the menu that was posted with easy access by the front door.
I ordered Platter 2, which allows for one protein and one side. I ordered gyro meat and baba ganoush, with cucumber yogurt sauce. One of the staff running the grill offered me a forkful of meat and asked if I would be willing to try something else. He said the gyro meat was (previously) frozen and THIS meat was cooked from fresh. I believe he said it was beef, and it tasted amazing, so I switched. He aslonoffered another fork of chicken, which was also amazing. I chose to stick with beef. I also ordered a baklava for dessert and a bottled water.
Everything came out in quickly (less than 5 minutes), served on a paper plate, and I was directed to the disposable silverware on the counter. As the business appears to run as mostly take out, I appreciate that they use as much biodegradable items as possible.
The food was everything I hoped it would be. I wish there had been just a little more cucumber yogurt sauce (as I really like it), however there was enough. The meat was tender and flavorful, rice was fluffy and moist, the greens/ onions salad balanced out the meat/ starch. The baba ganoush/ pita was delightful. The pita was the thinnest I have seen in a long time, and was just the right amount of chewy. The baklava was simply perfect, flavored with rosewater and perfectly balanced sweet and just slightly sticky.
There is no question as to whether I will be back or not (I will be!), it's just a...
Read moreMy family friends told us about this place in Pittsburgh downtown to try out and let me tell you I was very, very impressed with not only the food and also the service they provided for us.
We ordered a head on what we wanted and as soon as we arrived they had all the food ready for us and it was very hot, ready to eat. I have never been to a place where they serve the food in advance because parking was a nightmare in Downtown Pittsburgh.
We had their Grill platter which comes with all the meat that you would love to eat and also we had a side of appetizer which had baba ganoush and hummus and few other things with on top of french fries and a side of shawarma which was so delicious. My mouth is watering again by just talking about all this food!!
The place was such a clean and amazing environment with family members around, and on top of that, the hospitality that we got from the ownership was amazing and kind to my family. I would definitely highly recommend this place to anyone who would love to try Middle Eastern food with their family members, and the food was so delicious and juicy that you would want to come back again.
Thank You Guys for making our family dinner night...
Read moreHad a hankering for a legitimate chicken sharwma, searced for places downtown on Google Maps. A few came up but this place had high ratings and the pricing was more in my budget than the other places.
Walked in and noticed this place is very clean, greeted by Saif at the counter who was patient and helped me with the menu. Ordered the chicken sharwma wrapped in the local pitaland pita and upgraded to include fries and drink.
Sat and waited for 5 minutes and Saif bought over my lunch to me. The quality, taste and portion was spot on. The chicken was perfectly marinated and juicy off the spit. It tasted a lot like what I used to get back in Europe.
They have an extensive menu and I will be back to try more items. For a middle eastern place downtown, this is a very good choice. Very clean, friendly service, good food that will not break the bank.
Went back a few weeks latter and got the platter of fresh grilled lamb seekh kebab with basmati rice and 2 sides. This was very delicious and eveything tasted very fresh, these guys know what they are doing, this may jave become one of my favorite local...
