ALDI — Local services in Pittsfield

I’ve been going to Aldi’s for years, and it’s been my number one place to shop.. from the prices and the cashiers and everything Aldi’s is HOW could I go anywhere else? I’ve actually learned to love grocery shopping from my Aldi’s trips! The employees have been so nice and helpful…after a while you become a regular and they remember your name and it just out of nowhere becomes a part of your weekly routine. I’ve always heard Aldi was good to their employees, but after seeing it MULTIPLE times…it saddens me to say that Caleb the manager is absolutely atrocious. I have seen him down talk his employees on many occasions…he verbally abuses them and now it’s to the point where I am way too uncomfortable to go back. He yelled at an employee while I was getting produce saying they were a joke and replaceable, and I immediately had to walk away and ended up leaving my cart to just go order dinner. I thought long and hard before I brought myself to write this review. How could you guys keep someone like that when all the other staff is absolutely wonderful and more capable to run a store then he is? This is why good employees leave! A friend first told me about Aldi about 13 years ago. They had a location in a strip mall in Hudson, NY. I remember that store as being distinctively “discount”: hardscrabble, gritty atmosphere and a limited selection of generic foodstuffs. I never went back. Fast forward to today: Aldi in Pittsfield is clean, well-stocked and staffed by friendly, diligent workers. Good meats, fresh produce, dairy essentials and many gourmet and organic selections. This is my favorite grocery store! I love how easy it is to navigate and how they are so efficient. I love how friendly the staff always is. Customer service is important to me. There is always someone asking if I and finding everything ok and the employees at the register have always been fast as well as friendly. My favorite thing is the prices! I don’t mind limited choices as long as the prices can’t be beat and the quality is good. I would love to see more corn syrup free items.
