I had a horrible experience my first time visiting an ALDI. Everyone we spoke to was in a bad mood and in a hurry. This was my first time in ALDI so I had no idea what it was about or how the store operates.
I picked up a few items and put them in my cart and I went up to the register. I noticed the two people in front of me didn't get their items bagged, they just took them in their hands and left. So i grabbed a bag that was available to purchase and I bought it along with my 5 items. As the lady is scanning my items, which she didn't even greet me, just started scanning and throwing my items, I went to put my shopping cart back. She immediately yelled at me to bring the cart back. I asked why but of course she didn't explain anything she just kept motioning to bring the cart back. I bring the cart back still confused, she throws my items to the side along with my bag and gives me my total. I ask her if she's gonna bag the items for me and she says "no. put them in your cart." The guy behind me explained to me that they don't bag items so the line goes faster. That's how they keep the prices low.
Now, I understand the strategy. You don't spend money on bags, your check out lines go fast so you don't need to hire many cashiers. I get it but really to be honest. I'd rather pay the $5 I saved to Publix to have even some semblance of customer service. Is it really worth sacrificing all customer service to save a few dollars? What would it have hurt for the cashier to put my 5 items in the bag while I was paying? or instead of yelling at me, explain why I need to bring...

There have been few set backs...You Need To Be Prepared...... 1). *Dont forget your quarter, (for the shopping cart.) and your own shopping bags. (because you will be packing your own groceries). You can purchase grocery bags from Aldi's or use boxes. *Certain products may not always be available. Today they were out of alot. Many empty spaces on shelves. 3.) **Needs more CASHIERS. Very difficult to scan over $150. Worth of groceries on a tiny bag spot!! Its CRAZY! Furthermore I will wait inline forever before checking myself out. Other customers must feel the same way because the line was down the shopping aisle. It could be hazardous. *Also the problem could be because there was only one cashier for both Self Check Out and Cash register!!! THE CUSTOMER DOES NOT WORK FOR YOU!! WE ARE ALREADY BAGGING OUR OWN GROCERIES, PICKING UP AND RETURNING SHOPPING CARTS. You need to fill positions. Groceries have increased in cost. Shelves are not stocked. Overall three stars. Read moreI had a terrible experience today at this location, we went there around 8 pm, we were looking on the vegetables shell for green onions and other veggies, when I almost was stepped on by one of the employees with a Floor Scrubber Machine, she really wanted to hit me with this machine, I put the complain with another employee and she laughed at me with the other one, then I went to the "manager" and she she didn't even bother in looking at us to our faces, she just continue doing what she was doing, I asked her why they were cleaning the floor while there were customers at the store, it is not supposed that we deserve to do our shopping in a safe and comfortable environment?
It is really disgusting how people is treated in this stores, I don't understand why people who doesn't like customer service works in this industry, and how these companies hired people like this, NEVER AGAIN at Aldy. Thank you but I...
