Finding a trusted jeweler is as important as a great tailor. My fiancé knew I was kind of picky with engagement rings so he just proposed with a diamond in a plain setting and then it was up to me to design it. However, it became harder then I thought. For over 6 MONTHS my fiancé and I visited over 30 jewelers across South Florida from big cooperate stores like JR Dunn, Mayors, Levinson, Jareds, Kays etc. to many different family owned stores. When we came to this store we knew we were at the right place. Latif and his staff are so down to Earth and not pushy at all (unlike every other place). I had 20 pictures of different rings I found online and brought them to Latif and he was able to create my DREAM engagement ring. Latif, is such a stylish, tasteful designer who I completely trusted. He is creative, but listens to what you want. He knew EXACTLY was I was envisioning and even made it better!!! He generated a 3D CADCAM computer image and said he would keep making wax moldings until I was 100 percent satisfied. The pricing was so fair and less then many places! It took way less time then any other custom jeweler to make the ring (From start to finish 2 weeks or less). Once the wax molding was made the ring took an additional 2 days to be made. It turned out better than I could have expected and I'm excited to wear it everyday. I am saddened and angry to have to write this review. My wedding ring is a 4th generation, 100 year old family heirloom that was given to us as a gift by my grandfather. Actually it is an engagement ring and anniversary band soldered together by my grandmother before her death. These were inspected my a reputable jeweler in my hometown and sent by mail. Once I received them from my husband, I set about to have them resized. They said this would not be an issue. After 3 attempts, my cherished heirloom has: 2 cracks in the shank, 1 in the setting, has been sloppily soldered and a crack repaired with white gold instead of the platinum that was originally paid for, tool markings throughout, the shank is wavy from so many sloppy repair jobs and the antique hallmarks have been all but polished away. I strongly suspect that the shank was not cut and platinum added as it was said it would be but that the shoulder was heated and pulled to cover the sizing difference. One shoulder is thinner and not as built up as the other. It was NOT this way previously. The people are friendly and their jewelry is exquisite, but they completely messed up my family heirloom (knowing it is irreplaceable to me- having been impressed on them several times). From the minute I walked in the store, they made me feel like I was welcomed. I knew I was in the right place. I had been shopping for my engagement ring for a while with no luck. Six months later, my now fiance and I returned to get our wedding bands. It was even easier and more pleasant this time around. My fiance and I walked in with a a particular look we were going for.
