I frequent this thrift store but my experience today rubbed me the wrong way for sure. They do have a good selection and things are generally cheap. I got 2 flannels and one of them caught one of the cashier’s eye, and she (i thought) jokingly said “No, this flannel isn’t $5, its $20, so maybe she won’t take it, because I want it.” and continued by saying she works in clothing so wasn’t sure how she missed it. Well, I ended up paying $20 for one flannel after asking “Oh, you were serious about the $20” nothing was said, and my money was expected. These shirts usually range from $4-$5. This ISN’T how any business should run and I left feeling extremely robbed just because it was desireable to somebody else. There really is no explanation for this and am extremely disappointed and will no longer be telling people of this store, even though before I raved about it. I hope this makes your workers think about how they can make a more positive impact within the community.
Edit as I have no other way to respond, I have NEVER been given a receipt as this establishment and paid in cash and just wanted to leave after the experience I had. My total was $30.74 and I had gotten 2 flannels, and a $5 frame. I handed the older cashier 2 $10’s and 3 $5 bills and she gave me back $4 and some change. I came in right after noon as well, today. Very clear that they don’t want to own up to their own mistakes. THIS STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED OR EVEN LOOKED INTO. They lied and I will remember their...
Read moreI just saw a negative review posted today (10/24/2023). I feel very strongly that I have to make it RIGHT, though I have never provided a review of any kind in my whole life. This is my favorite store in all the Metro Detroit area. I started visiting and shopping there 13 years ago when my daughter was 2, and down through the years there has never ever been a single time that i did not leave there with total satisfaction and gratitude. People who work there are always so warm, friendly and helpful, so much so that going back to shop there feels like visiting old friends. I happen to be IN THE STORE today when the negative review was provided. I know both of the cashiers and I DO NOT for one single moment believe either one of them has the CAPACITY to act the way that was described by the customer. One of the ladies at the front was a dear funny old soul who is always making jokes. I could picture her cracking a joke as she has always done that with me. I highly doubt the customer was charged $20 for two shirts. It could be, might be, a mistake since the store was so super busy today with the customers lined up all the way to the other room. If that is the case, I have no doubt in my mind they will make it right if she goes back...
