Let me start by saying that I love Aldi… I typically go to the Flemington location but I happened to be in Phillipsburg NJ on the night of June 26th and stopped to get some eggs and fruits. This was around 8pm. I could not find the raspberries so I asked the one person on the floor, an older white blond woman (since she refused to give me her name) where I could find the raspberries. To my surprise, she yelled at me and said “we’re closed ma’am”. I apologized and said I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware since the door was open. She said well that’s my fault. I went to the check out counter and stood there while she was wiping down the registers and was completely ignoring me. After 3-4 minutes of standing there and still ignoring me, she walked over to the very long counter where people sometimes go to bag their groceries etc and started wiping it down. Now I’m really frustrated and asked if she was going to check me out. She snapped at me and said “When I’m done”. I should have left everything and walk out but I waited. I worked in retail so I know when it’s closing time, employees just want to leave. I get that. Had she told me they were closed when I walked into I would have left. I did not realized that they were closed. Instead, she chose to punish me. I’m a customer .. a loyal one and that’s unacceptable behavior. As she was checking me out, I just wanted to get out of there fast so I put out my hand to take the items to put it in my bag. It was only 5 items. She continued to ignore me and proceeded to put the items in the cart, delaying both of us even longer. I asked for her name but she refused to give it to me. I am a Manager by profession, and I would never tolerate this type of behavior from my employees. It’s very poor customer service. This employee needs to be the-trained in communicating effectively and everything related to providing outstanding customer service. It’s the worst customer service experience I ever had.She totally...
Read moreStandard Aldi. It's a unique grocery store, produce, meat, dry goods, and housewares. Low prices, great products. They don't have the giant selection of a big box store but what they do have is great, and they have a lot of unique stuff I don't see other places (dairy-free chocolate pinwheel cookies!) Always something on sale, and seasonal items rotate frequently. Cashiers are nice and very efficient. I've never waited more than a couple minutes in line.
Just remember to bring a quarter for your cart, and your own bags. You can buy bags there by the register if you want but you will still have to put your items in the bags yourself, as it's always been for every Aldi. Also, if you're not satisfied with your product, they replace it AND give you your money back. Can't...
Read moreAbsolutely love shopping at Aldi. They have most everything you need for your shopping trip. Produce is excellent, they have fruits and veggies, and organic fruits and veggies. A large selection of bread, rolls, wraps, etc. keto options, deserts. Chips, cheeses, deli sliced meat and cheese, frozen options, breakfast options, basically everything that you can get at another store, except it's "off-brand". They do have some 'name brand' items as well, but the price difference usually isn't worth the money.
I have been shopping at Aldi for years, and would recommend it to everyone. Shop here first, get everything you can, then go to another store for the remainder. Best way to save money on your...
