This is an updated POST (12/6/2021).
This White Castle always delivers a "GREAT" experience. However, on this day it was beyond "EXCEPTIONAL".......
First, it's a nice feeling to see the inside was open. We're so use to locked doors at Fast Food Restauranta, due to various reasons. This place is always sparkling clean. Oh... and the bathrooms are open too.
I ordered a Crave Clutch, along w/ a few other items. While waiting I noticed my receipt stated Cheeseburgers. I went to the register, because I didn't request Cheeseburgers. There was a two (2) dollar difference.
The woman at the register wasn't sure how to fix it. I told her to just give me cash or sned it back to my card. Which ever was easier. She was going to void the order and re-ring it. I didn't want it done that way. So, she asked The Manager (Ana) what to do. They asked if I would take more Burgers in exchange? Sure!! Anything to make the process easy for ALL. Ana also, threw in a large drink.
What made the experience pleasurable and exceptional? Pure and simple..... The PROFESSIONAL Customer Service!! However, most important was the extraordinary willingness to make me feel as though I was a "VALUED CUSTOMER"...
THANKS ANA..... You're an "Exceptional" Manager. White Castles should be glad to have a person of your "POSITIVE" Mindset employed by them.
I highly recommend this location. The drive is worth it. Nothing beats "EXCEPTIONAL" Customer Service!!

OLD REVIEW: Was last person admitted inside facility. Great experience at Phillipsburg, NJ...
Read moreTo appreciate this classic burger you do have to crave it...But nothing else replaces it when you do.
Except for the Bronx, & Hudson County, NJ White Castles, this Phillipsburg one is close to my memory of WC as a youngster.
Old fashion 1930s pictures hanging up are wonderful. People got dressed up to go. It served anyone and everyone. I remember when they were 12 cents each. The waitresses came out to the car on roller skates with trays in the 50s.
White Castle was also known for its coffee and stirring the milk & sugar with thin wooden sticks. White Castle coffee was once one of the best cups of java between the 60s & 70s. Open all night too in Hudson County, for the late shifts and bus riders.
But this one has a friendly young staff. Fast and clean. An enjoyable experience. Only the independent White Manna in Hackensack, NJ comes close to duplicating a WC burger but not quite.
This little burger is still one of the most original American fast foods 2nd only to American Apple Pie (since, I think 1912).
There were no McDonalds or Burger Kings then. And I think White Castle is still only available east of the Mississippi & remains privately owned.
It's also healthier for you...It's not fried or grilled -- but steamed. I would have given it another star if their coffee was still as good as the 60s through the 70s. Maybe they should rethink that brand.
After all Dunkin' Donuts started out as just...
Read moreI was very excited to try White Castle as it is something that I’ve always wanted to try but have never come across a location. I passed by this location in the middle of a road trip and decided to try it and easily one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made. There where 4 cars in front of me at the drive threw and it took 35 minutes to get my order. I could see why it took so long as when it was my turn to get the food that it was not even ready and the employee were socializing while getting everything ready. It took almost 3 minutes to get my coke as he was in the middle of conversation while pouring it. Worst of all they got my order wrong. Finally, the food was disgusting and easily the worst burger I’ve ever had by a mile and almost vomited. It was very soggy and had no flavor and all I could taste was the pickles and ketchup I asked to be removed. The fries had no seasoning. I’m extremely disappointed as I stooped here in the middle of a road trip for a meal that made me sick and took over 30 minutes to get. This location was very poorly run and it is safe to say I will never be getting White...
