I bought my boyfriend a brand new solar Seiko watch for our 10yr anniversary. He went to HGD just to get a link removed and there was a miscommunication and they thought he also wanted a battery change (it’s solar, there is no battery) so they opened the back, saw it was solar, and put the back back on. When we got the watch back it no longer worked. We tried to charge it in the sun and I’m strong light (for hours!) and no luck. Went back to HGD where the woman who removed the back came forward and was extremely defensive, rude, and agitated about the entire thing and told me to just return the watch where I had gotten it. Another man eventually came forward and said they would have their watch specialist take a look at it when he got back and give me a call the next business day. I then received a call from another young girl who told me the watch specialist just had to adjust the battery (?) and set it in The Sun and it is working fine. Went back to pick up the watch, still upset because they had sworn up and down that only the back had been removed and nothing else had been done to it, but now come to find out something (?) had to be put back into place. Explain this to what I assume is the owner and he is quick to say the girl I spoke with on the phone made a mistake (another mistake?!?) and that all they did was charge the watch in the sun. Odd because I tried that. At least I can say that the link was indeed removed and the back, which they had put on crooked initially was straightened. I left feeling like I had been lied to and dismissed and that I would not be getting any additional help from them. I will not be going back which is unfortunate because they came highly recommend from family...
Read moreNeeded a watch battery changed, it came back with condensation on the inside and needed to be cleaned so I had to take it back. The back of the watch is now slightly mangled from their work.
I also dropped a Lagos bracelet off to see if it could be fixed. While I was happy it was fixable, the clasp had pieces missing and looks jenky now. Expected a little better craftsmanship or at least a heads up it would look different now. Neither the watch nor the bracelet was cleaned. I thought that was standard when you pay to get something fixed they just clean it up while it’s there… at least that has been my experience.
The staff was pretty mediocre. Not sure how others said they make you feel like family. During my couple visits the ladies behind the counter weren’t the most welcoming. I described what I was picking up and the lady seemed annoyed and scoffed that I could be so stupid to describe my jewelry and said, “Yeah, well I have to start with your name.”
It was just like, really? There wasn’t a nicer way to ask for my name? They had literally just called me for pickup that day. Just odd all around and less...
Read moreWe moved into the area a couple years ago and didn’t know any jewelers here so I guess my husband found this jeweler through a recommendation from his job! My husband purchased a pair of earrings for our Anniversary…a bit to big so they allowed me to purchase another item or get my $$ back! They were very helpful and I purchased a beautiful item! I went back to get my eternity band fixed since my finger was to big and it was very hard to get my ring off, Iris offered suggestions …. I could trade in and get another ring or maybe try to open it up and put a small band in it. Although it would not have a diamond there I didn’t care because I loved my ring but couldn’t wear it( I’m older now of course). They did a beautiful job and had it finished the next day from when I brought it in! Iris saw that my engagement ring had an issue with the head and suggested to fix it so I didn’t loose the stone! Needless to say they had it done later the same day!! They were wonderful and the jewelry at the store is gorgeous! I would highly recommend them if u need a jeweler! My experience was awesome! Thank you again...
