This bookstore was criticized by a visitor who objected to a book in the window, "Ultrasound and Autism." Apparently she did not look past the cover. Nearly all unborn babies worldwide are repeatedly scanned with ultrasound; therefore, the bioeffects of this diagnostic procedure are of concern to all humanity. This book quotes from peer-reviewed papers of leading ultrasound physicists and physicians and publishes the official warnings of the FDA and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, world leader in ultrasound safety. For decades the public has been lulled by the reassurance, 'There is no evidence that diagnostic ultrasound produces harm in the developing fetus when used properly.' However, the World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology advises, 'The safety of an ultrasound exam cannot be assured.' In 1992 the FDA approved a nearly 800% increase in the intensity of ultrasound that could be delivered to the fetus. No evidence 'was then or is now available to support the assertion of safety at these exposures,' according to leading ultrasound physicist Francis A. Duck. The European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology states fetal ultrasound 'can produce temperature rises that are hazardous to sensitive organs . . . the possibility of developmental effects in the brain cannot be ruled out.' The matter of risk has been so effectively concealed that most expectant parents believe there is zero risk. That is why they are alarmed by evidence of the 'parallel rise' of ultrasound and autism, as Jacques S. Abramowicz M.D. refers to the phenomenon. Experiments on the subject have continued for 25 years. David Morrison has shown courage and openmindedness in providing the public with access to this book, written by a physician for...

Scott, the operator of the store, is super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about...
