Kitchen Kaboodle NE Store — Local services in Portland

This place is really nice and the staff is very friendly and helpful but damn is it overpriced. I don't mean overpriced as in they carry expensive stuff, which they do, and I like nice things, but everything is marked up 20-30% over MSRP. I was looking at a lodge cast iron griddle which they had priced at $80, you can get the same one from roses restaurant supply and several local hardware stores for $60. The pricing is the main reason for the 2 stars so take this next part with a grain of salt as I am rather utilitarian about my kitchen and dining stuff: the selection is not that great, they're missing lots of basic items and instead have too wide a variety of decorative and gimicky items. There should have been better communication with customer service about product returns. They need to verbally say out loud that they are not taking merchandise back because of COVID. I told the person at the cash register that I want to keep my receipt in case it doesn’t satisfy me and she stuck it in the box for me. I literally was not satisfied with the product took it back and was refused. I am totally not about money at all. I am about communication and transparency. Prices are a little high for this local boutique store, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a wider selection of all things kitchen and kitchen supplies. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and willing to talk through your needs to make sure you have the right solution. This would make a great spot for a wedding registry. Check out the sponge collection. No joke it's pretty ridiculous. Don't forget to go upstairs for furniture and other goods.
