French Cut Hair — Local services in Portland

I used to think "its just hair" but now I'm leaning towards "hair is everything". My curly mane grew out straight after pregnancy and I was absolutely clueless how to style it. I was visibly anxious and so I really appreciate the genuine care given by Monica and stylist, Scarlet, who spent her Saturday evening time off-the clock to talk about color too. The stylists here are not only highly trained and talented, they're fascinating people and great conversationalists.

Monica took a few minutes to be truly (and intensely) present with me, understand my context and look at my example photos then fully devoted about 2 hours to getting it just right. I ended up with a cut that I didn't think was possible and resembles a photo of Kate Moss from the 90's. I love this place. The vibe, the scenery, the people it's all great! I ONLY come here. After my hair cut or dying process is over with Tim. I just walk around downtown and grab a drink. They are also located in a great place in Portland where you have bars and shops and out to eat places. Love plants? Great! A whole plant store is just right next door. Sweetest lady EVER! She will also give you a deal at her store just because you went next door. So if you get your hair done make sure you also go next door for a visit. This is just all over convenient! I had an extremely frustrating experience trying to get in for a haircut with Tim. After scheduling an appointment which I waited several weeks for, he texted me a few hours before my appointment saying he needed to cancel and that he would work to accommodate rescheduling. He then did not respond to my message about rescheduling, basically ghosted me even when I tried to follow up.

Easily one of the most unprofessional experiences I've ever had at a salon and especially frustrating considering I waited several weeks for my appointment for an already long overdue haircut and now I have to figure something else out. I read about a similar experience in another review so it seems like this is a pattern for him....
