The bar in the basement is nice and low key for the most part. The bartender tonight was a completely rude, unprofessional, and shady. I had a winning ticket from the video lottery machine for $90.95 so my gilfriend gives him the ticket and a nickel to get an even $91. He just let the nickel fall onthe counter and says nothing. I try to hand it to him once he doesnt take it and he says nothing so I tell him here is a nickel to make it an even $91 he proceeds to tell me they dont take change into their tills at that bar so he was giving me the $90 and change. He then says here I have $90 and 75 cents for you and. Walks away to the computer to scan the ticket. I had to say excuse me 4 times to let him know it was $90.95 not $90.75 he then says all we have is quarters here so you get $90.75 because they round it to the nearest quarter. I said well if I am not mistaken from my days in elementary school where I learned to round. If you round to the nearest quarter shouldnt you have given me $91 even I was 5 cents away. Instead he shorts me 20 cents and I am supposed to be okay with it. This place ripped me off. I stopped by for a late lunch three days ago. Had fish and chips and a seltzer water, total bill of $14. Left a $4 tip. That evening my bank notified me they had changed me $49! I called and spoke to a waitress who told me she’d have the manager call me. No one has called. I think the waitress screwed up my bill with another table. Which I discovered when I unlayered my receipts. I went back there after waiting for 3 days and right at their opening hour, noon. There was one customer and a bartender who didn’t have the authority to fix it issue me a refund for the overcharge. It took 45 minutes for him to call and then have a manager arrive who examined my receipts, acknowledged their mistake, and issued me a cash refund. Four days later the credit card charge was adjusted to the correct amount for my lunch. The next day another person claiming to be a manager there left me a voicemail asking for my credit card number. Really? I am never going back...
