Hostess was rude from the start. Made a reservation over a month ahead of time, and arrived 5 mins early. When we got there was told we had two hours bc of a private event. Which we were fine with, but the whole experience turned into us being rushed out earlier than originally told.

The first waiter we had, he was nice and did the whole craft your own cocktail build for a friend and agreed to spilt our checks two ways. However they switched us to a new waitress half way through and she was very rude. She rushed us but saying 'hurry up and order food, you need to be out in half an hour'. Which confused us since we were told we had two hours. She also refused to spilt our check even though the waiter before us said it was fine and he already spilt it. (It was only split two ways). She was combative when I calmly said that I believe our check was already spilt before she took over.

The food was great but 2/3 of the staff we interacted with were rude and judgemental the whole time. Was supposed to be a fun birthday for a friend but they made it a bad experience.

Overall we were very confused why they accepted our original reservation time if they were going to rush our whole party out quickly...

This place is an absolute hidden jewel.

I am actually hesitant to share this review because if more people know,.... EEEEVERYONE is going to go.

Splendid drinks. Absolutely uniquely crafted top shelf drinks. It’s like a luxurious mad scientist bar,... beautiful and magnificent. Those drinks. Lord have mercy,... those drinks.

The food. Wait,.. not what you think. The food here is better than a Ritz or Four Seasons or many (most) luxury branded places. The food is perfectly complimentary to the location. We had a variety - the bone marrow- was amazing. It’s been months and I still think about it.

This place is very upscale and cool. I am not a very fancy person at all and I dress SoCal casual and wear flip-flops in 50° weather. I felt fine here,... but if you dressed up a bit,... it’s the place to do it.

The chef who hides in back is quite a creative person and does an excellent job. I fear that with his excellent culinary skill - that he might get stolen away,.. but I doubt it. He loves what he does and it shows.

Want to impress? This is where you can go.

Here is a warning. People are beginning to know about this place,.. so be prepared for a...

We arrived all the way from Scottsdale, AZ to enjoy a late night drink. We were told that it was open seating by the security (he was a nice guy). There was no seating available as we circled the bar and we were standing. Eager to impress one woman asked us if she could get us anything and got us three waters. Another woman asked us if we had been helped. A party of six left their table so we sat down. Passed the dirty glasses and plates to the waitress who said nothing about us sitting there. Then another waitress and waiter came over and the waiter was very defensive. He had a poor tone and said that the table was reserved for a party of four or more (we are only a group of three) and that a party of six was waiting for the table. We explained that we were told it was open seating and apologized. He continued on waving a “reserved” sign in our faces. FYI the reserved sign wasn’t on the table! We just stopped him and said “we don’t mind, it’s fine.” He continued to talk back stating he was trying to set the expectation, but we were already over his aggressive attitude. He followed us out and exclaimed, “OK, where is that party of six?!” as we left. Needless to say we...

One of my favorite visits during my time in Portland! The drinks were lovely, but what makes this a five star cocktail lounge to me is their menu. A lot of upscale cocktail bars put insane ingredients in their drinks and don’t explain what anything is - this is not the case here. Their menu includes not only a ranking that gives you an idea of a drinks flavor profile but also includes a glossary which I think is brilliant. Not everyone is a trained barista, and teardrop does a great job of both including you and educating you a bit on the way. The vibes and atmosphere were immaculate; definitely get the bread and butter (who doesn’t like bread and butter?) and this would be a great spot for a date, for friends, or just by yourself! Value for money is also excellent; how often do you get to try a craft cocktail for these prices? Service was a little lacking on the day we came in but I’m sure that was just a one-off as I see other reviewers haven’t had that experience, so that doesn’t lose stars for me :)
