If you are having any level of struggle at all with breastfeeding, RUN and I mean RUN to this invaluable resource. Go to the Friday lactation support group even if you arenāt a group-attending type of person. Even if you havenāt showered in three weeks. ESPECIALLY if your baby is barely a week old and youāve just learned they are not feeding as well as they need to. I wish I would have gone then. If they ever start charging for the group again IT IS WORTH IT (currently it is free).
For the first few weeks before I went to Nurturing Expressions, I thought someone was supposed to give me a clear guideline for how to navigate my little oneās feeding struggle, but I felt like I was clawing for information & next steps, and totally in the dark for what to expect. These folks totally rescued me. Plus, I was not expecting to be so comforted by meeting other moms going thru the same struggle as me.
P.S. if youāre able, have them do a consult with your pump (which you can get from them covered by insurance) at the first possible sign you might need to use it for supplementing. They can show you how to use it and help you get properly fitting flanges so you can pump effectively. Another thing I wish I...

Anyone who knows the struggle of feeding an infant and being that food source knows how uniquely, acutely stressful it is. I had absolutely no idea until I chose to breastfeed, and then I had no idea where to start. The staff at Nurturing Expressions have been an invaluable resource to me more than once. Between helping me sort out pumping issues, wade through the countless nursing/pumping bra choices, and the reassurance - I cannot ever repay them adequately. I didnāt know a place like this existed until I went in desperate search of one. We are so fortunate to have them as a resource, and I cannot recommend them enough - even if you donāt know where to start or what to ask - no one knows what theyāre doing in the beginning. This shop really helped me realize Iām not alone in this undertaking to feed my child. Being a mother is a uniquely lonely experience, but it doesnāt have to be. If you need help, let these amazing people...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs most people, I much prefer to leave positive reviews, but unfortunately this has not been my experience with Nurturing Expressions. I had issues with unreturned phone calls, text messages, no updates, basically no customer service. After a month of dealing with this, I ended up with incorrect size items. What amplified this frustrating experience for me is that I emailed the owner, Tracy, on two occasions, asking her for help, and I received no response from her either, not even an acknowledgment of my emails. This is very disappointing, of course, as most people are referred to Nurturing Expressions due to their medical needs, and I can say with certainty that there was nothing nurturing about the way I was treated by their Poulsbo office. There was not even a simple acknowledgement of the mistake for ordering the wrong size items. They gave plenty of excuses, and there was zero accountability. I hope they do better for the next people in need...
