Taco Taco Poway – A Hidden Gem for Mexican Street-Style Eats Tucked away near Walmart and right next to the DMV, Taco Taco Poway is a local hidden gem that delivers quick, affordable Mexican-style street food. Though the interior is modest and a bit cramped, this casual spot draws regulars with its budget-friendly menu, unique taco options, and laid-back vibe. --- 🌮 The Food Taco Taco offers a solid variety of Mexican staples, from tacos and burritos to appetizers and combo plates. I sampled a few of their most talked-about tacos: $0.99 Fish Taco – One of their best-known deals. It comes with shredded cabbage and a small piece of fried fish. While it’s a great value, the portion is understandably small and the flavor is basic. Pulled Pork Taco – The standout of the meal. The pulled pork is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and pairs perfectly with their tangy BBQ sauce. Highly recommended. Octopus Taco – A specialty item. The octopus is tender, but lacks freshness, which slightly detracted from the overall experience. Surf 'N' Turf Taco – Topped with scallops and chopped beef. While the scallops were decent, the beef was underwhelming, lacking both flavor and texture. Overall, the taco quality varies depending on the protein, but there are some real gems to be found—especially the pulled pork. --- 🍽 Atmosphere & Service The restaurant itself is small with limited indoor seating, which can feel a little crowded during busy hours. There’s self-serve water, and staff interaction is minimal. The ambiance is casual and no-frills, but there are some nice touches, like a bar shelf decorated with small, colorful Mexican crafts that add cultural charm. --- 🐶 Pet-Friendly & Parking Outdoor tables are available, making this a dog-friendly spot for those who want to dine with their pets. The restaurant is located in a large shopping plaza with plenty of parking, so finding a spot is rarely an issue. --- ✅ Final Thoughts Taco Taco Poway may not look like much from the outside, but it offers affordable, fast, and sometimes unexpectedly delicious tacos in a convenient location. The pulled pork taco alone is worth the visit. While not every item hits the mark, the overall experience is solid for a quick bite or casual lunch—especially if you’re in the area for errands or a DMV appointment.

Stopped by here on a whim after a long hard day, feeling pretty wiped out and just blah. I was greeted by Alex at the bar who was so sweet and welcoming, just the right amount of engagement for someone as tired as me. She asked if I wanted a margarita and I couldn’t say no. She seemed excited that I agreed and I loved her energy! So I got a watermelon margarita, ordered some food and talked with her a little. She was just what I needed in that moment, a friendly smile, not too much talk but excellent service. The marg hit the spot, the food was good, the owner came over and checked in, also super friendly and welcoming. I was feeling so glad I stopped by, a little rejuvenated and a lot happier than when I went in. And then I got the bill. I got some chips, more than enough even for 2 so I shared with the lady next to me. A carne asada fries, also at least enough for 2 and that drink. My bill was under $15, I nearly fell off my chair. The time I spend there was invaluable to me because I needed a moment of respite. I would have gladly paid so much more. I will definitely be back, thank you to the friendly faces and kind voices I met there!

COUPLES PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! THEY ARE SUBTLY RACIST AND ON DRUGS ELLOS SON BABOSOS

I've spoken to Olga the manager, she said that I may not(lol) judge her business off of these incidents...But this is a family business and she chooses who she hires correct? I asked her this and she seemed flustered and suggested i waste my time coming in to "discuss"(her damage control duh). Obviously Olga hires her relatives without managing them properly or even making sure they qualify. Olga does not believe that the employees she hires represent her business. Yet her employees wear a uniform that represents her business... Also note that this is a family business and families tend to share beliefs and traits. So note that Olga probably does not actually see any problems here but is simply attempting to perform customer service and damage control.

A FEMALE EMPLOYEE HERE DOES NOT RESPECT RELATIONSHIPS. SHE ONLY TOUCHES MY HANDS WHEN MY GIRL IS WITH ME SHE TRIES TO FLIRT AND MAKE ERRORS SHE THINKS ARE CUTE

SHE GAVE ME A RECIEPT THEN ACCUSED ME OF NOT PAYING 5 MINUTES LATER. I think she should stop doing meth...

She forgets my girls order but not mine every time and makes sure to only give one fork so I have to ask her for another fork so she can interact again. Even though the males here give me two forks no matter what and never forget my order, girlfriend or no girlfriend.

She glares at my girlfriend all the time and ignores her blatanly when she tries to order. The lady will only look at my eyes and smile at me while blank facing my girl friend. What is this discrimination? Just because she is not hispanic? This is very cruel, I took my girl to taco taco because she had many loved ones pass recently and I wanted to make her feel better, only to have her feel discriminated and unwelcome.

To those who are doubtful of my words, know that I've observed this "business" for years hoping they would prove themselves due to their convenient location. However, I cannot excuse repeated errors that occur more consistently than actual positive occurrences.

@Bitter Latinas: If a mex/asian coupling makes you feel unwanted, accept it bc its true, you are unwanted. Look how you "grown "women" act. Bow out gracefully instrad of disgracing the culture and business you represent with your strange vendettas.

UNDECIDED CUSTOMER FOR YEARS AND I WILL NEVER RETURN.

WANT TO HAVE A BAD DATE? Go here WANT A FAT OLDER LONELY LADY(that looks like shes on methamphetamines)TO IGNORE YOUR DATE AND GLARE AT HER EVERY SINGLE FREAKING TIME?

WANT THAT SAME LADY TO REPEATEDLY INTENTIONALLY SMEAR HER SWEATY PALMS WITH UR PALMS IN FRONT OF YOUR PARTNER (sexual harrasment)

AND NOW FOR THE FOOD: I'd get it if you like gambling. They have cheap fish tacos that vary in quality. 6/10 times soggy fish and the shell is crumbly and falling apart. They skimp me 6/10 times as well. Sometimes my tacos are a lot smaller and my fries are barely there. I almost always feel like I wasted my money here.

I really wanted taco taco. I am very disappointed and ashamed to be Hispanic as well.

P.S. i see responses to male reviews with profile have a winky face where as the response to nancy tran and (asian female) and pictureless males has no...

🌮 The Food

Taco Taco offers a solid variety of Mexican staples, from tacos and burritos to appetizers and combo plates. I sampled a few of their most talked-about tacos:

$0.99 Fish Taco – One of their best-known deals. It comes with shredded cabbage and a small piece of fried fish. While it’s a great value, the portion is understandably small and the flavor is basic.

🐶 Pet-Friendly & Parking

Outdoor tables are available, making this a dog-friendly spot for those who want to dine with their pets. The restaurant is located in a large shopping plaza with plenty of parking, so finding a spot is rarely an issue.

Tacos are the best!! 99 cent fish tacos all day everyday are hands down the best!

I left the above review 4 years ago. And to be honest for the last year, at least, I have been giving this place the benefit of the doubt, however, the service and accuracy of order has gotten progressively worse and sadly I keep coming back... Every single time I order, it gets messed up. This is odd because I generally order something super simple, literally same order(fish tacos, fries cheese, chips and salsa) every time and it still gets messed up, every time. Tonight was the last straw for me - my family and I sat down at a table alongside another family that had just sat down. The other family was initially greeted and given menus, that family then had their drink order taken shortly after, meanwhile my family was not acknowledged yet. The family then put in their food order and around that time a waiter finally came to us and asked us what we would like to order. Instead of the order getting messed up yet again, I decided to approach it differently so I ordered the appetizers first (usually just order it all together). We ate them slowly and still were never approached for our food order, finally (20-30 min later) a waiter approached our table long after we had already finished the appetizers, and asked if we were ready to pay.. instead of saying we still hadn't ordered our meal, I said yes,and paid up - will not visit ever again. Sad because we absolutely love this place, but like I said, in the last year especially, the service has gotten terrible. The last 10 times I have been there, 9 of those times the order has been messed up. I generally I'm not one to leave a bad review, but this one just bothered me so much because we love this place and sadly have to part with it. Maybe my experience is isolated, however it has been a major consistency over...
