I had an okay experience at Vow’d in December. This was the second shop I visited while dress shopping. Vow’d was my preferred dress shop and I booked my earlier dress shop appointment to have something to compare to. Unfortunately I don’t think they had what I was looking for and my stylist at Vow’d and I didn’t really click. I expressed that I didn’t want anything too beaded or lacy. I wanted something simple but with an interesting cut or detail.

I showed her some of their dresses I liked and she had us walk around and look. I explained I was having trouble visualizing the dress on the hanger. If she pulled something and I didn’t like it I would explain exactly what I didn’t like about the dress and why I.e I don’t like that neckline or the fabric, but she would almost argue with me about it. I kept expressing it was hard to know since they probably look different on. She pulled something very beaded and lacy and asked how about this? I explained why I didn’t like it and how it wasn’t what I was going for and she was like yeah I didn’t think so with almost a dismissive tone.

At the start of the appointment I was honest and let her know I found another dress earlier at another shop that I liked. I was still there with an open mind and I showed her the dress so she could get a feel for the style I liked.

I tried on around 5 or 6 dresses total. she kept trying to put me into a box of a line or fitted when I really wasn’t partial to one or the other and was interested in trying or seeing both. She also kept bringing up height and comparing us and talking about how certain things will make me look shorter or chopped up and it was a little discouraging. At one point as I was stepping into a dress, she said yeah only certain people can pull this dress off… but didn’t say anything positive or encouraging after that which is hilarious now.

I wasn’t mentioning the dress at the other shop but she kept mentioning the other dress and telling me I could go back there. Towards the end I asked if there was anything else she would recommend and she didn’t really answer then she told me I should go to the other store and buy that dress. It was a very awkward way to end the appointment and it was kind of a hey we’re done get out vibe.

I think they were in a transitional period where they were waiting for new inventory launches to arrive in store and had just discontinued items so they didn’t have as much selection. They must not have had the kind of dress I was looking for but I didn’t love the way that the stylist approached it I would’ve rather she honestly expressed that it doesn’t seem like they have the perfect fit etc.

Overall our stylist wasn’t as professional as the first shop and didn’t make the process easy or help guide us. She didn’t really adjust the dresses to try on based on feedback and didn’t recommend a lot of things. I felt like she mostly gave up half way through when I was earnestly trying.

It seems like I’m the only one that hasn’t enjoyed my experience here so I debated leaving this review but the whole thing rubbed me the wrong way. I needed a little white dress but opted not to come back to this store. I do think if you like something really trendy or beaded that you’ll have a great chance of finding a dress here! This was my first time trying on a wedding dress and it turned into my last. From start to finish, this was a memorable experience that I will forever cherish. The service was exceptional and I appreciated the curated introductory text I received from Janae asking for inspiration ideas and photos. She made me feel comfortable and confident, and most importantly, she was so genuine and easy to talk to. I didn’t know a thing about wedding dresses or specific fabrics or styles, but Janae educated me along the way. There were many beautiful gowns and as someone who doesn’t love the spot light, I loved that there was a dressing/show room in the back, so the experience was intimate the whole time. Also loved the complimentary champagne to help ease the nerves.

What i loved most about this experience was how Janae understood the assignment. She asked if she could pull a dress for me and while she was away, my friend and I discussed the elements of the prior dresses and what I would love to see in one dress. Without Janae even knowing what was said, she brought back a gown, THE GOWN, that had all of the elements I was looking for.

To bring things together, she grabbed a bouquet that matched my wedding colors and a veil, and took us to the front so we could see the full effect in natural light. Janae was so patient and she let my friend have our moment while I called my mom. Seeing my mom’s reaction sealed the deal and even with her being hundreds of miles of away it felt like she was right there with us the whole time. Such a precious and special moment. One that will stay with me for a lifetime.

Yesterday I went to this location to look for a dress. We had an appointment for 4:30pm and arrived a little early. We were immediately greeted with warm smiles and offered a beverage. We were told to look around and get an idea of what we loved and that when our stylist was finished with her current client she would sit down with us and start the process. The showroom was bright and full of beautiful dresses that could fit any style of bride. After a little while right at 4:30 our consultant Emily came over and walked us through the process and how she does her appointments. She was so sweet and helpful and really made me feel comfortable and excited to try on dresses! We had just come from an appointment at another shop that did not make us feel comfortable at all so it was very refreshing to have Emily as our helper! She helped me the whole time and was very congenial and seemed to really enjoy her job! She offered fantastic suggestions and support when I wasn’t sure about something. The dresses were stunning! Every single one was right on brand for the modern bride but they also had very classic styles as well! My budget was limited and I was able to walk out with a dress that I TRULY loved and felt beautiful in that was WELL below what we were hoping for! I can’t sing the praises of this store enough!
