I ordered a desk online, paid a delivery/shipping fee and when it arrived and I was getting ready to assemble it, I found that it was missing a piece/part so I couldn’t assemble it. I called and ask how can I return it and was told my only option was to return it in person at their store because it was delivered by a third party (door dash). There’s a reason I ordered it online and paid the delivery/shipping fee, because it’s a big, heavy item that I can’t transport myself. So anyways, I found a way to make it to the store and return the desk to now be told that my shipping/delivery fee cannot be reimbursed, because it was a third party who delivered the item. I ordered the item from At Home and paid them for the delivery, if their third party delivered an incomplete item, they should still be held responsible, it is their desk after all that arrived incomplete, that I had to find a way to physically return back to them. Never again will I order large heavy items online from them.
UPDATE 9/18/24. Emailed customercareline@athome.com and they refund me the shipping/delivery fee. It was still an inconvenience to have to take the large item back to the store 30 miles away from my home but at least they refunded the shipping/delivery fee for the...
Read moreHad a horrible expierence with a very rude person during check-out. Was purchasing a planter, which came in two pieces. Outside was a wicker basket inside was simple black planter. Cost was $99. Sticker was on the inside of the planter inset, which apparently sales associate did not trust the label. I advised that others on the shelf had the exact same set-up in same and smaller sizing than the one being purchased. The inset was truly a simple black pot to hold the plant (which wicker portion of the planter could never be sold as a stand alone item).
Sales associate called another associate over to verify the price and told me “I am not about to give away a planter”, insinuating that I was being dishonest in trying to purchase a $99 plastic planter pot!
The other associate looked up the pot on the store’s website and verified that item was two piece and price was accurate. I felt first associates’s remark was very rude and said this to the associate. His response was not an apology, but said “I am only doing my job.”
If this is the approach to “doing your job”, I don’t need to shop in this store, for which purchases from customers like myself, help ensure you have a job to do.
I will go back to Home Goods and TJ Max...
