This is a long post, but worth the read if you are in the market to purchase a gun from Fleet Farm. I'm a 66 year old woman. Went to Cabellas WITH MY BROTHER IN LAW to buy my first gun. Cabellas choose to believe I was a straw buyer and was attempting to buy a gun for the vicious looking 73 year old man (my brother in law) that accompanied me. Cabellas denied me with no explanation. I was told by friends to just go somewhere else as it's a store policy, not a background check issue. Great....I go to Fleet Farm WITHOUT MY BROTHER IN LAW this time. I fully explained to the sales person what happened at Cabellas because I wasn't sure if it was on my record somewhere and wanted to be UP FRONT and HONEST and not waste both of our time if they were going to deny me. No, that's not a problem they said. That was just Cabella's store policy. At first, they didn't deny me. They said there was a delay and they would get back to me. Get back to me they did, and said they were denying me because someone who fit my description was attempting to buy a gun for someone else at Cabellas. So couple morals of the story. 1. Fleet Farm should be very worried about the decisions their store employees make as they are based off what Cabellas does. 2. Makes no sense to be up front and honest these days. Such a sad world. And at the end of the day me, a 66 year old woman, with nothing on her record and honest and up front can't buy a gun. Smacking my head.
I see you responded. I'm impresssed that you read the post. I won't be calling you, however. You have lost me as a customer. Being accused of something without research or getting my input is not right, and I would rather not due business with a company that has that philosophy. Whatever happend to innocent until...
Read moreI Went to the fleet farm car wash a few weeks ago and purchased a car wash on the gas pump. Accidentally threw the receipt into the trash with the rest of my vehicle trash while filling up the tank at the car wash. I went inside the store and asked the gas station attendant if I can have a new code, or if you can give me the existing code. The gas station attendant replied yeah the trashcan is not locked. You can take off the lid and dig through the trashcan to find your receipt.
I advised that digging through the trashcan and trying to find the receipt was not a feasible option and didn’t make sense for the request that I was making and many people were out there using the trashcan as well for their vehicle trash.
I called the manager in the main store and she advised that she will get it taken care of and that I would be free to go get a new receipt from the customer service in the main store. Next time I was in the main store for a car wash.
That seemed like a fair resolution, giving me my car wash back so I took her word for it and went about my day.
Today I went into the store to get the new receipt for the car wash that was supposedly attached to my phone number. The girl at the front desk counter looked for it and found it. However, she said I’m sorry it’s expired. I asked if there was anything further that can be done about simply trying to get me the car wash or refunding the car wash back on my card since it was never used and she said no sorry.
I will never use this gas station or car wash ever again and I’ve spent lots and lots of money there. I have them in the past the service is absolutely inefficient and unfair to customers. It is to the point I will not even shop at the store anymore due to the extreme Lack of proper management...
Read moreWe've been in Rapid for 4 years now and this is only our third time coming here. It was a pumpkin decorating event that brought us here in the first place but then of course we had to go look at the Halloween decorations inside after.
And as I've said to my husband the last two times we've been here, "why don't we come here more often?" Ok it's a little further than other big box names but honestly, this is my new fave bc yes they have a bit of everything (love the varieties of candies, nuts and chocolates) but what Fleet Farm has that separates them from those other stores that shall remain nameless is AMAZING customer service. Yes, I said it. I, a Native New Yawker who moved to Rapid City for friendlier experiences but have been surprisingly let down thus far have finally found a store where I can browse for hours (spent two hours in store) - buy all the amazing things and when I get to checkout, I am greeted (and helped) with friendly service. Mary at self checkout was great! Friendly, personable and NEVER made us feel like a burden. Trust me, other stores are notorious for this and I never understood why. We needed help on the floor and the first associate I flagged down was also very helpful. I wish I had gotten her name as well bc she walked with us to where she thought the item might be. She didn't just point aimlessly and send us on our way like most employees. Then as we're in the aisle another employee pops in asking if we needed anything. These things are duly noted and VERY appreciated.
This is a big deal! Why aren't other retailers getting this? It's not some big secret. So Fleet Farm, please keep this up. As consumers, we notice this and we appreciate it. So much so that FF will now be...
