My boyfriend, who lives four hours away from RC, was in need of a nice suit as he is set to officiate his niece's wedding in CO. He spent over $500 on a Calvin Klein suit and Kenneth Cole shirt and paid extra to have basic alterations on the length of the sleeves and pants, to be completed by a visiting master tailor . He had to drive back again once the suit arrived to be fitted and was assured that the tailor would complete the work before she left town a few days later.
I went to pick up the suit for him and was stunned to view the alterations on the coat sleeves. It looked like a child had done it. It was puckering in multiple places, the buttons had been moved and sewn in hapazardly not in a row but instead several overlaying each other or off to the side. I simply couldn't understand how a master tailor had done such sloppy work or that MW would think it was acceptable to present this abominable work to a customer.
The woman, who I think is the manager, took one look at it and said that the tailor didn't do the work but instead one of the other part-time employees did it. He had just left for Harvard so he was probably distracted. My thoughts were why would this store ever let an employee tailor a $500 suit, when my boyfriend has driven 450 miles to get it tailored by the master tailor who was visiting the store?
The manager's excuse that the young guy was excited for college was bizarre and 100% unacceptable. She sent the coat overnight to Sioux Falls to be fixed by their master tailor and I picked it up a week later. Because the pants appeared visually to be okay, I did not request any alterations to them.
I took the whole suit to my boyfriend's ranch a few days later so he could try them on and make sure the alterations were fine. The jacket now was perfect. However, the pants had at least an inch length difference between them. While an inch doesn't seem like a lot, it actually is. You can see his sock on one side and not the other side. It is now too late to have the pants altered before the wedding.
This has been a terrible experience and stressful when the suit is needed for such an important event. When you pay over $600 in total for something, you expect it to to be delivered in accordance with what you paid for. We both remain stunned that an employee at this store would even attempt alterations and now the manager is making excuses for the terrible job. I will be contacting the store and expecting a refund not only of the alteration fee, but also a return of a portion of the value of the suit given the inconvenience that we've been put through. This kind of customer service is completely...
Read moreThis was a terrible shopping experience, and I would not recommend this store. If I had checked the reviews beforehand, I would have gone to the mall location where customer service actually matters.
When we walked in, there were only two other customers. Assuming they were being helped, I browsed on my own, expecting someone to check in. Instead, I ended up shopping completely without assistance. The main associate eventually appeared, apologizing because he "had to use the bathroom", still tucking in his shirt and looking unkempt. It was unprofessional and embarrassing.
Despite the lack of service, I spent $1,300 on two suits. At checkout, I was even asked if I wanted to keep the hangers. The suits were handed to me in cheap clear plastic bags as if I had bought them from a discount store. To make matters worse, I had to go back in just to get the receipt I wasn’t given.
It’s clear from the owner’s repeated online apologies that nothing has changed. If this purchase weren’t for my father’s funeral, I would return everything and shop somewhere reputable. Buyer beware, this store does not value its customers.
Update: I already reached out to the email provided in the "owner" response, and unfortunately, nothing will be done that directly affects me. They only stated that they would notify the store and work to improve the process, which does not really offer any good will response to my experience. Do not ignore these reviews and go somewhere else if you are going to spend this...
Read moreWent in mid February to figure out rental tuxes for our wedding--needing 16 tuxes (about $3500 worth). We had an appointment at 2pm. At 2:30pm, a lady finally helped us but once I mentioned we wanted navy tuxes she told me I need to come back in a couple of weeks because the new colors weren't in. Maybe wouldnt be a big deal had I not lived 3.5 hours away. 5 minutes later, her boss caught wind of our complaints and showed us the new navy color swatches that were coming in. The boss walked away and the lady started bad mouthing her boss saying, "I guess only the priveleged get to know the new colors." I asked if we could go by the swatches and pick out the under shirts, shoes, vests, and ties and she told me I could not. Long story short, we left unhappy, but planned to come back in a few weeks or whenever able.
Called yesterday to make an appointment to see the new colors in full suit and finalize everything. The guy that answered the phone informed me, "You couldn't have picked a worse day out of the year to do that" and "You can make an appointment but I can't promise we'll be able to help you due to prom." So, I said "Ok, it sounds like I need to take my business elsewhere". Called Audra's Tuxes in downtown Rapid and was met with nothing but wonderful customer service and got an appointment no problem! I DO NOT recommend this Men's Wearhouse but would recommend checking out Audra's first for all of your...
