ARK Security — Local services in Rexburg

Looked up this place and saw the GREAT reviews.

Called them Monday 17, Nov 2014 at 10 am. and I was told they would come by my place to check out my car issue. They never showed up. I called again Tuesday Morning at 10am and Wednesday Morning at 10 am, and I was told someone would come by and nobody showed up both days. Mike - The Owner, FINALLY showed up Thursday and I asked if he could do the job before Thanksgiving. He quoted me a price for the job and said he would have it done sure thing. Thursday he worked on the car for 20 minutes then left with no explanation of what he would do. I think he might have come by for a few minutes Friday? By Monday there was no explanation what was going on with the car so I called over to the shop. They had no idea where he was and what was being done with the car. Mike called later Monday evening 24 November, and said it would be done Tuesday at noon. Get a call at 11:30 am Tuesday morning and Mike says that he broke my airbag and couldn't fix the ignition, that I should have another mechanic work on it.

I took it to a GOOD mechanic, Jared at U-Wrench and they showed me the broken airbag wire and explained it would be a $260 part. Jared fixed ALL of the problem in a few hours once he received the parts.

I went back to Ark Security and talked to Mike face to face and asked very nicely if he would help pay for the part that he broke. He utterly refused to even pay half.

A few key problems with this business:

Secretary knows nothing - No communication with me or with each other. They do shoddy work and won't try to fix or admit their mistake. They're incredibly slow and lazy.

I don't know how they do with other jobs but if you have car issues, DO NOT have Ark Security work on your car. It will save you a lot of time and headache. Just read the post by Robert Wilkins, same issue. The response to his problem was: "We want our customers to feel comfortable getting a MANAGER involved so we can come up with a fast and agreeable solution."

That's all I wanted, was a solution to MY problem. I took the issue to the OWNER - no solution.

They also said to Robert Wilkins, "We will be reinforcing our training in customer service and communication." - Uh... right, because it's the employees that don't have good "customer service."

All I wanted was a solution Ark. That's all. I might have even left 5 stars for shoddy work, if you would have resolved my issue. I just hope other consumers don't get rolled over by...

HORRIBLE experience!!! I brought an Acura key fob to have cut, waited nearly two hours for the kids at the front counter to tell me I needed to have my cylinder lock re-keyed and that my fob was too thick after they cut the only one I brought in WRONG. I got a second professional visual opinion and was told that if i got my cylinder lock re-keyed then my original keys would not work. Mind you my original key works in the doors and ignition cylinder lock with ZERO issues (2 valet keys) and (original key fob from Acura). Even after the key was cut Mike the head guy of the business laughed and told Tyler who did the job, "he didn't do it right stop filing it down and to cut it again." I was also told by another licensed locksmith that there is NO reason to re-key a cylinder lock unless the key is NOT in working order. I'm now out on cutting the key $20.00 and the key fob which was $42.00. Bottom line you don't want the run around don't deal with these KIDS at the front counter. They will not resolve anything.

SO now they want me to re-key my cylinder lock ($65.00) and buy two new blades for the keys (at my expense) and pay them to cut both keys to match my newly re-keyed cylinder lock. I know keys wear down but if it was worn enough my original keys (3) wouldn't work. Which does...
