I brought in my brand new gold ring because the stone fell out the day after it arrived in the mail. I tried to fix it myself (Iāve worked with gold jewelry before) and 2 of the prongs snapped, so I wanted them re-tipped.
I came on a Sunday afternoon, but was told the jeweler wouldnāt be in until Tuesday. When I came back on Tuesday, the jeweler looked at it and quietly told the sales associate (not me, the person 3 feet away from him) what needed to happen. The associate relayed that all 4 should be re-tipped because they werenāt strong enough to hold the stone and the stone was likely to continue falling out if they werenāt. He also said they didnāt have the right materials to fix it that day, which was the whole reason I came to them. I was told it would take a week to order and receive the material needed. I didnāt want to leave it there, but when I asked they said I had to. I feel they could have taken details on the ring and I could take my precious, newly received engagement ring with me until the material arrived. I had tightened the snapped prongs enough that the stone wasnāt going anywhere. Still I wanted it properly fixed, so I said fine to leaving it there and the $220 total.
I was initially thrilled when it was ready Friday afternoon, just 3 days later. However, the next day I was in my parked car and I realized the stone was gone AGAIN. I thought paying for all 4 prongs to be re-tipped would prevent this from happening, but it appears not. I was rather angry and didnāt want to take it back in, so I resolved to fix it myself. This time, the prongs were fine, but the setting broke clean off the band. Now, I have a new, and I assume more expensive, problem to fix. This time, Iāll be taking it to a local jewelry store where the jewelers are also the people doing sales. Had I done this in the first place, the ring would be in 1 piece on my left hand.
Yes, I broke the setting off, but only because I was trying to fix the problem they assured me I was preventing when I paid double what I wanted to and waited 3x as long as I...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePlease do not waste your time here. I have several pretty nice watches. Four of which are Burberry. When the batteries have died Iāve brought them here to be replaced. It cost $40 plus tax. Which seems high but I was willing to pay it just to get it over with. And they offer a five year warranty. Which is nice...
I have used the warranty before, as the battery died before five years. Iām not sure if theyāre less quality batteries or if thatās just the normal lifespan of a battery for my watches?
They give you a card for your warranty and they say that the battery is marked so they can tell if they have replaced it before or not.
My problem today came about because I was quite sure that the three watches I was bringing him to have new battery put in were all under warranty. The man at the counter said only one matched the warranty cards I had - the serial number is marked. he of course want helpful in explaining which matches or where I could see the serial number.
Maybe he was right - thatās not really what my issue was. The problem is the way he treated me. He was rude when I was dropping off my watches and he was extremely rude when I picked them up. I questioned that they were really not covered and he flew off the handle lecturing me about how āI get what I paid forā and how āI didnāt keep track of my cards or know what I have had done...ā. He raised his voice and told me I was being rude. He was very confrontational and I actually felt threatened.
I paid the $80+ for the two batteries but I will never pay for other services there again.
When I dropped my watch off he was behaving this way to another woman who was having an issue with a watch. I didnāt think much of it at the time but I really wish I had.
** I forgot to mention - I asked if he was the manager and he said he was the owner. So I felt I had no recourse. Iāve been here several times and while I do think itās overpriced the other works have been relatively courteous. But please stay away from the owner. Heās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst customer service - My wife and I went to the Galleria to replace the battery in my watch to find out the store I'd normally have this done at was no longer there. However, we saw Fast-Fix Jewerly & Watch Repairs and decided to have them do the work since we were there. We waited for a few minutes to be greeted. Once the man that was working on a watch did so, he treated us like we were annoying him. It sounded like it was painful for him to tell me the cost of replacing the battery in my watch. My wife even commented that it didn't sound like they wanted our busness. We decided to have the work done since we were already there. We were told it would take 45 min to do. We came back 50 min later to be greeted by a woman this time. She looked and acted the same way as the man we dealt with earlier. This is no way to treat your customers. Not to mention, the prices are not competitive. We will NEVER go back to Fast Fix and I STRONGLY recommend you...
