AAAA Self Storage — Local services in Richmond

All they care about is your money, Nothing else, I am currently renting from these guys and In May I paid all the way thru aug 3, I was told by the lady that works the front desk that I didn't have to pay until sept, well this morning my locker was locked and I didn't receive a email even telling me my bill was due or late like they normally do so I was thinking I didn't have to pay til sept like the lady said, so I called at 1047 today and the lady in the office that she was busy and the manager would call me within an hour, its 510 now they are closed and the manager still didn't call me.......this is very unprofessional to me and I would never treat a customer the way I was treated today, so it's cool for me to pay a couple of months in advance but I can't get a couple of days when your worker said that I had to pay in sept!!!! They only care about money and will not even give you the respect by calling you back, I know when I go there Friday I will take my business to where it's appreciated, Do not rent from these people because of you have a problem No one will help you, I still haven't gotten anything saying that I owe or my locker would be closed like they normally would send to my email, I've waited all day for this manager to contact me but now the place...

The proximity to some of the worst neighborhoods in the city might make you worry that your stuff isn't safe, and neither are you. You are so wrong, on both counts. I feel safer leaving my antique book collection here than at any other self-store unit I've ever been to. You'd need to manage to get inside with a 10-gauge shotgun with a huge slug in the chamber to breach the lock on any of the storage units. The noise alone would set car alarms off on the street. Your stuff isn't going anywhere. As for outside, no, I wouldn't go for a walk down some back streets or see how bad Gilpin could really be – AAAA's grounds are well lit, constantly monitored, on a huge north-south thoroughfare across the street from what will be luxury condos – the police are a regular presence if that matters to you. My only problem is getting my books back and forth. The place is a maze and there seems to be one pushcart for the usage of everyone. The access hours make it difficult to arrange a big move, unless you live some weird hours. But it's climate controlled, centrally located, & well-run. And the...

I am absolutely appalled and disgusted by the condition of my son's belongings when he retrieved them from your storage unit. Despite being stored for less than two months, his items were covered in mouse droppings, urine, and feces, rendering them severely damaged. The unit was also infested with cockroaches. After unpacking 1box over 9 mice ran out of box there was a nest inside !!!!! I am shocked that a storage facility would operate under such deplorable conditions. While affordability is important, it's no excuse for compromising on service quality. I strongly advise others seeking reliable storage to explore alternative options. Numerous reviews have highlighted similar issues with rodent damage, which can lead to health issues like respiratory infections ect .
