Cut And Run Vintage — Local services in Richmond

I’ve had positive experiences at this store in the past, but during a recent visit with my partner, we had an uncomfortable experience that felt discriminatory.

When we arrived, we saw a woman come out of a space that clearly looked like a dressing room — it had a mirror, a seat, and a curtain. However, when my partner attempted to use the same space, we were told it wasn’t a dressing room. It was confusing and disappointing, especially because we were genuinely interested in purchasing a few items.

While the gentleman assisting us was otherwise polite, the inconsistency in how we were treated made us feel unwelcome. I hope the store will take this feedback seriously and work toward creating a more inclusive and respectful environment...

Bad experience overall. Will not be coming back. Avoid at all cost.

I am very supportive of small business but this one is stains the community of small businesses. The owner/employee was very pushy and rude. As if they wanted us to buy something and leave. When we asked questions, they would respond with an attitude. The environment wasn’t friendly or welcoming. Some items didn’t have a price and when I asked, they were a bit pricy. I don’t mind but when we went to counter to buy, the price went up and I asked why when you had just given me a different price earlier.

They base the price on how much they want it to be and they are very rude and unwelcome.

My absolute favorite place for vintage clothes / goods / home knickknacks / accessories / VHS etc. The owner, a local, Cody was super kind and helpful. It’s apparent he is intentional with what he brings into this space as a direct reflection of personal admiration to nostalgia. Prices are fair seeing as this is a VINTAGE spot, not a thrift. We chatted about a shirt and vhs and I learned how he personally washes all clothing before bringing it in and does some magic cleaning to the vhs’s too (didn’t know they can get mold). He also screen prints his own shop tote bags, which I had to snag!!
