My fiancée and I were very excited to visit Dransfield Jewelers as her recently married sister received a beautiful engagement ring from her now-husband that he purchased there. My fiancée had inherited a ring and she wanted to have the diamond reset into a more modern design. On the day we visited Dransfield, we took a quick liking to the staff. They had positive attitudes and were confident that they could turn out the design that she wanted after she gave them a detailed description and showed them some pictures to help illustrate. In fact, they were able to use not only the main diamond in the engagement ring but also the miniature diamonds in the band to contribute to a new wedding band. After chatting with the staff, we decided to let them take on the job and left the ring with them.

It took about two months for the engagement ring to be completed, and here is where our experience loses a star. When we left the ring with them, we were told that we would receive rough sketches within the week. Two weeks went by and we hadn’t heard anything from them. My fiancée then sent them an email to follow up. After a week went by and we still hadn’t heard anything, I gave them a call. They apologized and sent us some rough sketches a few days later. My fiancée looked them over and gave them feedback. A month later, the engagement ring was done and it turned out beautifully. The wedding band took only another month and some change to be completed (well before our wedding date) and again, it turned out better than anything we could have hoped for.

It wasn’t so much the length of the timeline that they gave us for the engagement ring, it was the fact that they didn’t stick to the timeline they proposed to us and were incommunicative at times. We would have completely understood if they had told us that they were backed up or that they were in the middle of a busy season and would not have the completed ring to us for a month or two. We like open communication and it would have been nice to be kept apprised of the work being done.

However, we do not want this to put a blight on our overall experience with Dransfield because it was excellent. We are thrilled with the rings they turned out for us. They clearly know their craft very well and in my opinion, to have the expertise to use components of one ring to help make two stunning pieces of jewelry is impressive. The staff are very professional, cordial, and willing to work with their customers. If you’re considering taking a ring in for a custom job, I think it’s safe to say that they can do anything you want with it.

I recently got engaged. I was excited and of course wanted everything to be perfect, especially the ring. I get anxious about big decisions and this certainly qualified. As I began my search to figure out where I would purchase the ring from, I was inundated with ads and salespeople. Most were nice, but did not offer a level of comfort that made me want to move forward in the process with them. I quickly got over some of the larger jeweler chains. Not to say there is anything wrong with them, but I found a lot of their engagement ads and sales pitches very cheesy. Since it was such a big decision and purchase I did my due diligence. I visited several stores around the Richmond area and did research online. After several weeks of searching I walked in to Dransfield Jewelers. It was instantly appealing to me. It was small and there were not a bunch of people bombarding me with questions and sales pitches. By the time I left that day, I knew that I would be back soon to move forward in the process. Everyone that I talked to and worked with to create the engagement ring was a real pleasure to deal with throughout. They listened to the ideas of what I wanted. Showed me examples of various rings and diamonds. Also, they worked around my budget which was a particularly important thing for me. Ultimately, I could not have been more pleased with my experience. I am not sure if it was because of the size of the shop, the demeanor of the people, or the fact that there were a few VT connections we had in common (which I found out after I had decided to move forward with them), but I know that the biggest reason I chose Dransfield Jewelers is because they made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. From the moment I walked in the door until the moment I walked out to make one of the biggest decisions of my life, I was pleased with the service and product they delivered. I am sure that I will make future purchases there as well. They even gave me a call the other day to wish me Happy Holidays, and told me to come by whenever I get a chance and pick up a bottle of wine. They certainly did not have to do that. We had such an amazing experience working with Dransfield Jewelers for our wedding bands and my engagement ring. We worked with Rose to design my engagement ring almost two years ago. After our first meeting and me describing aspects of rings that I liked, Rose sent me about 12 different and unique designs based off of our conversation that were all absolutely stunning. My boyfriend at the time (now husband!) picked one of those designs to propose with and it was more beautiful than anything that I could have imagined. After we got engaged, we worked with Rose for both of our wedding bands, where she again displayed such patience and creativity while helping us with designs. I absolutely love my wedding band/engagement ring combination, and feel so happy that they are unique, stunning, and and inherently me. My husband is thrilled with his wedding band, and loves the custom engraving that I was able to put on the inside of it as a surprise. This was all thanks to Dransfield Jewelers and Rose.
