The FriendShop — Local services in Rio Rancho

Absolutely love this used bookstore and all of the people who work in it! Everyone here is so kind and helpful and knowledgeable of every single book they've got on the shelf. They can take you right to it! Unlike some used bookstores, all of the books are organized just like a library so it's easy to find anything you're looking for. They have a wonderful kids selection too with a cute little nook for the kids to sit and read. We homeschool and I have even found great books that I can incorporate into our studies such as children's dictionaries, kids geology books, stem books, etc. The prices here are amazing too! Cheapest used books I've found in the area by far. This place is my go-to bookstore...

I was here on vacation from Vermont, visiting family in Rio Rancho and we came across this little book store. It definately is a must see. There are so many books to choose from, neatly alphabetized, so very easy to find what you want. I went in twice and bought several. Found out they were having a sale when I was heading back to Vermont. Gave my sister a list of books and of couse, I couldn't be happier. The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable. I also work for a non profit, so it wasn't difficult to help out where it was needed, plus it was a bonus meeting the staff. What they do is so important. Great job ladies! Years ago the Friends of the Rio Rancho Library funneled funds to the Loma Colorado Rio Rancho library. Following a disagreement with a new librarian, the Friends widened their scope to support libraries throughout Sandoval County. What resulted was this used bookstore where everything is $2 or less. Children's books are less. The donated inventory is larger than that of many commercial bookstores. When my wife died our family donated something over 600 books to this non-profit as we admire its work in our community. Looking for a good read? Looking for books for children?
