Athleta — Local services in Riverton

Athleta used to be my favorite clothing store. The amount of money I invested in this company is ridiculous. In the last year, Athleta has quietly been phasing out plus size clothing. This is disgusting! It is 2024 and nearly EVERY company out there is moving toward inclusivity but Athleta/Gap/Old Navy has decided to discriminate against regular sized women. Shame on them! If a plus size woman wants clothing they have to shop online. There is literally no other option. When you go online, you will notice that you can only buy clothes in black and navy for the most part. Occasionally, they offer another color in bigger sizes.

Also, the quality of their clothing has gone down hill SUBSTANTIALLY since I started shopping with them years ago. The sleeves have lost inches of length, the clothing is not as comfortable, and the sizes seem to vary wildly.

It is absolutely their prerogative to discriminate. Who am I to tell them who they can allow to shop with them, but it is our prerogative as consumers to give out money to businesses that demonstrate respect for all humans rather than a small subset. I will be sure to let everyone I can know that Athleta/Gap/Old Navy do not deserve our money. Got a holiday gift from here. Had receipt, Go to exchange, spent another $500 on other items, and the clerk refunded the gift givers card instead of giving me the credit towards my exchange and new purchases.
