I didn't realize Burgers & Barley was located in a food court until I walked in, captivated by the large, floor-to-ceiling windows that create a campus-like feel rather than a traditional food court. The influx of natural light creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, leaving me pleasantly surprised during my initial visit. The seating along the walls was quite comfortable, providing a cozy spot as I waited for a friend, and making it apparent that the place could serve as a nice nook for studying or working, given the small size of the tables and power outlets readily available for charging devices.

For those preferring a more traditional dining setup, there are tables and chairs centrally located in the dining area, offering versatility to cater to various preferences. Adding to the charm is a small park visible outside, equipped with a playground and a slide, presenting a family-friendly environment.

On my visit, I opted for a hamburger topped with avocado and bacon — a hearty choice that satisfied the craving for something savory and fulfilling. However, it was the side dish that truly stole the show. Instead of the traditional fries, I was served chips that were crafted from potatoes cut into the shape of chips yet retained the thickness of fries. We have been a few times and normally it isn't too bad but this time was just a disaster. We ordered online for pickup and arrived about 10 minutes before. We were the only patron so it is not like they were busy. When we got home to eat, the order was wrong as they had not added or subtracted any of our requests. The bacon on both outlaw burgers was almost raw, the burgers were very well done almost to the point of being hockey pucks (we ordered medium), the lettuce was limp and had black spots all over it and the buns were black and burnt on the bottom making them super hard so that you couldn't bite through them. The fries which cost us $6 were cold, undercooked, and limp like they had been sitting their awhile. We weren't too happy either that the only drinks they could give us with the kids entrees were cans of coke and our kids aren't allowed caffeine. Nice people and clean area, but the food was not that great. The meat for the burger flavorless. Some salt, some charing would really liven it up. The meat tasted as if it was boiled, (im sure it wasnt, but it tasted like so), and tasted like raw meat even though it was cooked. Fries were too soft and oil filled, maybe fry them up a little more. The peppers were great nicely seasoned, too much burger sauce, less is more sometimes. No combo, everything has to be bought separate so you can easily spend $25-30 for a burger, fries, and coke... CA prices... When I went a few weeks ago I spoke to one of the owners who said they just recently bought the place not too long ago (maybe early Oct 2025).
